The Ink is Dry on the Contract!!!

Btw, Cockytalk.com is banning Spurrier to Bama posters....paranoria sets in.

That site is trash. They have the most homers, the worst mods, they ban trash talking but allow it in their signatures or if its pro-usc, they remove threads if the topic is something unpleasant about usc...it really makes me appreciate this site and mods.

Just took a peak at cockytalk. What a joke. This is quoting a mod...

"Bama is just upset because everyone they offered said no thanks. It's hard to accept that your program is no longer a national powerhouse. Take it to smack.
"

In other words, Im going to disrespect your school in any thead I want, but you need to go to another forum if you type something I dont like.

A couple threads later he shuts it down. Probably because he doesnt want to hear the possibility of truth. I wish they knew how much worse they are making usc fans look...which is pretty bad after their "behavior" this year.

I have zero "hatred" for USC,but I have to say that forum is by far the worst forum I've ever been on.Cockytalk....more like wussie talk.

Found this post at Tidefans interesting.

Smelley news on FOX 6 - TideFans.com

Guess the rumors are getting out of control now...

Wow.:eek:hmy: Even though I teach English at the university level, I have never once acted as a grammar or spelling policeman in this or any other forum. However, after visiting the Tidefans forum listed here, I must say some of the Bama folks who post there are in dire need of professional remediation in the area of effective communication skills. For Bama's sake, I hope its diploma is a rarity among the forum's membership.

This morning's Birmingham News...

Spurrier Out Of Mix
TUSCALOOSA - University of South Carolina football coach Steve Spurrier has told people close to him that he will not take the vacant head coaching job at the University of Alabama, multiple sources told The Birmingham News on Wednesday.
Some UA officials remained hopeful late Wednesday that they could still persuade Spurrier, but he has said in recent private conversations that he is not interested because members of his family recently moved to Columbia, S.C., and Spurrier promised them he would stay at least five years, according to several people close to Spurrier and the Gamecocks football program. Spurrier is completing his second season at South Carolina.

Also, from the Tuscaloosa News' Blogsite..
The rumor mill regarding Steve Spurrier was in overload late Wednesday night.
WVLT in Knoxville led its evening broadcast with a report on Spurrier being linked to the University of Alabama coaching search, and the various rumors circulating.
When contacted by The Tuscaloosa News, sports director Rick Russo made it clear that the station did not report a signing, a rumor which had quickly spread on the Internet.
Russo said that Spurrier's brother Graham, who lives in Johnson City, Tenn., was quoted in the story as saying he didn't believe the coach would leave South Carolina.
Meanwhile, Fox6 in Birmingham reported that Spurrier had agreed to listen to a pitch from Alabama, but did not identify a source. The Tuscaloosa News could not confirm any potential meeting.
Finally, contrary to speculation, as of 11:45 p.m. The Tuscaloosa News had not been notified of any imminent press conferences.

So what your saying is that there is still hope??? LOL! :)

Hey if he does come, great! If it doesnt, were still going to get a good coach, and I will be excited about the new direction. Maybe this one will be our Fulmer.

You mean your new coach will be fed up with the recruiting violations and turn in his new team?!:whistling:

I read on one of the Bama boards, that when Spurrier left the NFL he was quoted as saying, his dream job would be to return to college football as the head coach at either Tennessee or Alabama.

I don't remember ever hearing that before. Did I some how miss this announcement or was this just the crazed ramblings of a delusional Bama poster?

That one can be filed under urban myth.

He did say he wanted to coach at Tenn. Considering he is from Johnson City or somewhere right around there, i think he just wanted to come home.

What city is highest? memphis? When I was in college Albany, GA had the highest per capita merder rate for a few years in a row. I think it had soemthing to do with the drug smuggling corridor. Several of my frat bros. were from Albany and had tee shirts with an AK47 and a little slogan about Albany being America's murder capitol.

what frat were you in?

I just got confirmation from my cousin's, sister's, boyfriend's, best friend's, uncle twice removed, that the NHFCAUAT will be Pete Carroll. He is not going to take a salary, and is bringing Steve Spurrier as OC, Bob Stoops as DC, Bobby Bowden as Special Teams coach, and Joe Paterno as O-Line coach. Also, Paul Bear Bryant is going to be the AD from beyond the grave.

They should have taken Frank Beamer for special teams. They're gonna suck now. :)

At this point it's just a rumor. Not confirmed yet!

A friend called and said that they're selling houndstooth visors at all the Stuckey's in Bama.

I just found out that Spurrier's good buddy "Brother" Bill Oliver has agreed to be our Defensive Co-Ordinator!

Heard that rumor yesterday. And that somehow that is going to convince Spurrier even though he has repeatedly told the media that he is not going to Alabama. No means NO (unless you are Tommy Tuberville/Dennis Franchione)
