The Intel Leaks Thread

You have to be smarter than this. He needed to pull a Snowden and get the hell outta here, then release the docs.

Maybe they’re on the “smartest guy he knows” laptop…..that somehow doesn’t exist.

He made the claim, which was rather specific. Would like to understand it as I've seen nothing describing any of the documents, from mar a Lago or Biden's garage, or Pence's files. Don't see how anyone would know that.

Things we pushed aside to catch the leaker. I’m sure these other issues will come out soon. A nice distraction when Hunter gets back in the news.

Good with it when the govt is lying to the American public. Would he have leaked these docs if the govt was telling the truth re: Ukraine?

Wtf are you babbling about now.

You support the unauthorized release of military TS info? If yes, please move back to Russia.

I
Dumb ass kid.

Gonna rot in jail for some time.
I thought the penalty for treason was death. I doubt this administration has the tennis balls do go for it unless the guy is related to
Trump. The sad thing is we lost assets and operations due to this idiot move. It sounds like we had some folks in really good spots, used to anyway. To h3ll with the politics of it, more than likely lots of our spies and American's that aren't spies are getting "the treatment" in many foreign lands because of this.

Why are we giving such high level access to state level national guard? That doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. If he were deployed, maybe. But while state side? Not sure what necessity there was for this kid to have such access

You ignorance is remarkable.

You think you have the "right" to top secret military info.

Do tell why.

Yes.

1. I held a top secret clearance. The majority of “classified” information is the most boring stuff on the planet and over classified.

2. A “democracy” (left wing term for our government, and not accurate but the principle still applies to a republic) “dies in darkness” (NYT?). Meaning without access to info voters cannot make informed decisions

Do you work in the Los Angeles or Manhattan DA's office?

Depending on the nature of the information I would agree. For example Snowden should be pardoned. So far I’ve not seen anything of similar public value from this, but I’ve not looked much either

Let me make sure I understand your reply. You had a TS and you do think you have a right to classified material access? Or did I read that wrong?

Serious question whether this is an attempt by the intel community to seed a "leak", much like they did with the idea that a rogue Ukrainian group blew up the pipeline.

Yes. I do believe he was set up.

I mean to say...he was probably recruited to eventually end up where he is now.

Think about few things.
- We obviously cracked Russia's deepest intel groups. So it's possible that we're trying to anticipate them on something we're not quite clear about yet, and that maybe even our inside men/women can't solve yet. So us "spilling" info can cause a reaction that (remember we can monitor them deeply) that will show their hand as a result...

- Why right now? This kid had been leaking info for months. Isn't it funny how all the other "gamers" are kept anonymous? Some of them were intelligence themselves i would wager. And they forced his hand to reveal his hard evidence . You know... a "check my stats" moment

Interesting. So having a clearance do you remember the two criteria that must be met in order to deem whether you will get access or not? And where that burden of determination lies?

Need to know and I don’t recall the second aspect. But I’m not sure what difference that makes. As voters we have a right to know the majority of the nonsense that is “classified”.

From what I understand is that the leak put Americans and others in grave danger, as well as our capabilities to gather information going further. I hope I am incorrect, but it already sounds worse than Snowden to me.

From your clearance yearly training you’d remember that isn’t up to you to determine. If you have reason to believe classification is being abused there are postings in every compartment and in your training on where to report it.

Specific need to know and having the proper clearance to have access to the material. And the burden falls on the grantor of access not the grantee.

Yep most of what I’ve seen over the years is pretty damn boring. However 50 or so pieces of data boring as stand alone can provide useful information when correlated with the other 49 pieces. Another point that gets hammered home yearly on your training.

I would want to know exactly what it was they endangered people. It’s too easy of an excuse. They’re just taking the textbook definition of the classification level and saying by definition it causes harm would be my guess. I would want specifics. Depending on specifics I may agree with you.

Lol when did I say it was up to me to determine? I’ve been out for over a decade. So your implication that I’m lying is adorable.

Lol I also love your belief in the system. “If you think it’s overclassified just talk to the people who classified it”.

This is like “police investigate themselves, find no fault”

The information showed we had assets in the top level of Russian and Chinese military commands (Many other's too, and just the tip of the iceberg as well). These folks aren't too nice with problems. I would expect the good ole communist purge of lots of people. When I have time I'll dig up that info and link it for the folks here.
