What makes this more frustrating is that we have an inside game that can score against most teams. No need to shoot threes.
Much better at attacking zone last night.
They can do it when their heads are on straight.
And the other team has nobody to speak of in the low post. Again, this was a small jump shooting Ole Miss team. We did what we should have and beat them like a drum most the game. But, I want to see it against a more complete team until I'm sold
Playing zone usually takes big guys who aren't about the rim players out of the game and the both almost had double doubles. No post players or whatever they got the job done when they needed to
I'm just saying, that was a soft Ole Miss team. We played well but lets see us do it consistently until we say we have a real post game
Did it against LSU and UK who have the best bigs in the league. Against Arkansas and TA&M. Oh and 8 and 7 against Florida isn't bad. Idk what more you want. Our post players have been the most consistent part of this team. They get it done night in and night out.
And how did we lose those games to ATM UK and UF? Def post play had a role in that. They play well in the post but I would take Kansas post over ours any day. That's the type if play I expect from these guys every game

While they are certainly different style players - what I have seen this year has not led me to believe that Jordon McCray is a better basketball player than Marshall Henderson. McCray has a much better supporting cast, and made 6 of 7 uncontested shots without Richardson draped over him. I don't want to go back and check, but I don't think Henderson was 1 for 15 with no assists and 14 running wayhoo shifters against Florida either.
McCray can do things that Henderson can not - but Henderson can do a few things that nobody else can do.
Where would Ole Miss be without Henderson? Where would we be without Jordon? Last night I thought they both played well - albeit they both forced a few shots.
McCray is a talent but doesn't always get it and apparently the coaches struggle to help him get it.
Go back and watch the Florida game and his shot selection along with his passing and distributing of the ball. Shooters gotta shoot, but not necessarily 20 times a game, jumping sideways, while they are double teamed. Meanwhile Stokes is inside, virtually unstoppable, and only taking 5 or 6 shots.
Just my take.
No our post didn't have a role in it. Look at our 3 point attempts and makes it tells the game. And I would too but they aren't in the SEC so it doesn't matter. I wouldn't take a duo over Stokes/Maymon when it comes to rebounding second chance points.
That works both ways. I hope I'm wrong, but if Alabama is blowing UT out Saturday night, you and a couple of others will be a no show in the game thread.
