The Kentucky Postgame Report

1. Jarnell Stokes is going to be a star. Not only that, I love his patience on offense, and he has the ability to pass the ball. He made 3 or 4 nice passes. He's going to be great.

2. Cam Tatum left everything on the floor today. That was the best game he has played this year.

3. Trae Golden just gave us nothing today. I don't know what it is was, but UT cannot have that kind of play if they are going to have a winning record in the SEC.

4. Quite simply, Kentucky's D was just too good. UT just wasn't able to get enough points on the board to win the game.

5. Kenny Hall continues to play really well of the bench. Hopefully he continues to give that energy.

6. I don't know why they didn't get the ball down low to Maymon more. He had a mismatch.

7. Tough, tough game. The kids played hard, but Kentucky is just better. Need to get that road win against Georgia.
I do not agree with No. 2 also!

Tatum played too much this game because Richardson got in foul trouble. If you could play him 5 less minutes, I doubt he has that last turnover and that missed rebound.

Also, I want someone to tell me their honest expectation for a good game from Tatum.

Here is my only expectation of Tatum.

After the game to say he made us slightly better. That is all he needs to do.

It is really that simple he doesn't have to win games only not make us worse.

and seeing as how he is a 5th year senior that really shouldnt be asking that much of him.

Agreed.

I felt he made us better yesterday and many on here complained. I wonder if they agree with my expectation or if they feel he should be a leading kind of player that puts his team on his back and carries us to victory.

i think many feel that he should be that player or atleast somewhat of that player but i have realized he is not. he is never going to be for whatever reason, mental or injury or whatever it is he just isnt that player.

There is no question in my mind he isn't and won't be that type of player. That's why I can still appreciate small contributions because that is all he should be expected to do.

the other aspect people need to consider is who would you rather have out there? the answer is nobody.

My parents both went to Kentucky. Dad's family is in town(from Kentucky), and they have been complaining about the fouls for about 15 minutes.

A dissappointing loss.

Two Missed 3 pointers, once the Wildcats got the lead late in the game the Vols were ice cold.

Stokes was a ace.

Who would you say got the best of the point guard battle between Teague and Golden?

obviously i am biased but i would have to say golden. his 6 assists and 2 turnovers look much better than teagues 1 assist and 6 turnovers. teague had a few more points, but those came at the end of the game, also if golden hits a few of those open shots he normally does he doesnt have that bad of a game. i really would have to say golden outplayed teague but i dont think we saw the best that either one of them had obviously.

We must not have watched the same game. Golden played well. Kentucky focused their defense on Golden to take away his offense and did a good job. There are ways to contribute to the team other than scoring. Other players, specifically Tatum, picked up his lack of offense.

Golden was passive offensively, and he needs to play well for the team to win. We can afford a bad game from Cam Tatum. We can't from Golden. I thought Golden was somewhat timid on offense.
