Nice! I didn’t know they were that hot. I don’t follow the NBA much anymore but Knecht does have me paying a little more attention. I’ve always at least checked Hawks scores here and there though. I loved watching them back in the Nique days and after that when they had Steve Smith and Mutombo.

I have been following the Hawks since the days of Doc Rivers and Tree Rollins and Moses Malone and Dan Roundfield.

DK Lakers Game.jpg


Son and I had a great time at the Laker/Hawk game this past weekend. Son was able to sneak down to the lower level during OT. DK was gracious enough to sign my son's UT jersey after the game. He was so pumped!! I could not believe the amount of Tennessee Gear we saw being worn at the game. Honestly that must make DK feel great.

Lakers VP of basketball Rob Pelinka was talking big picture when he told ESPN: “We … have sort of chased in theory the exact player he is, a movement shooter. And then not only is he a movement shooter, but a movement shooter with athleticism, which is a really unique combination.”

kinda wild...DK is right now in the top of contenders for ROY...Lanier is acting like he wants to be next up...This is actually looking like we might be creating a pipeline at UT...Its starting with transfers.. but its eventually gonna trickle down to high schoolers buying in the the development UT can offer. We might have 2-3 first rounders this year (Lanier, ZZ, Milicic). How many years does RB have left?

As laid back as he is, as many as he wants.(if he wanted 5-8. I’m still cautiously optimistic about that “pipeline” tho. My skeptical self needs to see CL finish this year and a third year of it, by someone similar. Jmo

The development part of it is proven. 10000%. Every player that's stuck with the program has left here a much better player than they left. Heck, most of the ones that transfer out contribute and/or thrive elsewhere. The portal has allowed Barnes to take his development skills to the next level. As far a Lanier his ceiling at least on the collegiate level is limited by the fact this is a much more talented offensive them than we have ever had. Milicic and Dubar are legit good players and Gainey has had his light come on. And I will say it many times, Okpura and Philips are way more than I expected them to be this year. Heck, Estrella was on something before he got hurt. Crow is delicious.

You mentioned, what sounded an awful lot like a DK “Pipeline”. My point was a “pipeline” of DKs need 3 yrs proof.

Dubar hasn’t shown himself to be a good player yet this season. Doesn’t mean he can’t become a solid contributor by tournament time but we’re all in the wait and see mode with him atm.

I love Zeigler as much as anyone, but you’re crazy if you think he’s got any shot of sniffing the 1st round.

Hence the 2-3. There is a world where he could go late first. Would really depend on how this season goes and if he can get to the combine. I think if he makes the combine he changes some minds. He's just that type of guy.

What have you seen from Dubar to make you say that? Sure he missed some time but about the best thing you could say is that the jury is still out.

I think there’s a world where he sticks with an NBA team as a 3rd PG but no chance he goes 1st round

Who’s the last sub 5’9” guard to go in the first round? I also think it’s unlikely Lanier or Milicic go first round, knecht barely made round 1, the NBA just has an issue drafting older guys (which I disagree with), but all 3 of the players named are “old”.

Off the top of my head. I can’t be sure there is even a single player under 6 foot in the NBA that is rostered full-time. Most are two way type guys.

Maybe Kawamura? And he barely plays.
