The Latitude 35 Postgame Report.

I dont think Pearl is the end all be all of UT basketball.I also dont think there are a lot of great coaches out there either.I have yet to hear a good suggestion on a solid possible hire.

Mike Anderson isn't a solid possible hire? The Xavier coach? Grant? Come on. No way in 2005 many people thought Pearl was either, coaches get good jobs and win all the time. This is nonsense. If you haven't seen suggestions of a solid possible hire you either haven't been paying attention or you honestly just think Bruce Pearl is the god of UT bball akin to coach K.

Bruce Pearl is not a UT god but I dont think our last 6 years would have been as productive without him.Mike Anderson does have an impressive resume but getting a coach to commit is not as easy as you make it sound. The almighty dollar is a powerful influence when changing their minds though.

You said potential hires, and Anderson is one

That the last six years wouldn't have been as successful is certainly debateable.

But I think its safe to say that Anderson's tenure would not have come to such a calamitously abrupt and potentially program-crippling ending as this one will.

Not hypocritical at all.

It isn't. Pearl getting his due criticism from fans and media for his actions is vastly different than refs using their platform to embarrass him at the expense of his team. Refs have a job to do, and calling games to get to Pearl isn't part of that job. Pat Forde rips Pearl in column, is part of his job. The second example is what hatvol looked forward to, Pearl being exposed for the guy hatvol thinks he is.

If there is a replacement to be made { I dont want Mike hamilton to make it JMO } I think Rick Byrd would be a choice that would be considered

Why the never ending discussion of Pearl? The official VN poll says he will stay and that's good enough for me. Also, if it wasn't for those cheatin' refs and ESPN, we would have won 30 this year.
