The Liberal Argument for a Higher Minimum Wage

How about just loving the concept of freedom. The freedom where a business owner (you know the risk taker) decides the pay and the laborer exercises their freedom to work or not work for that amount.

Well, the people who consider themselves progressive believe that they and not a business owner know what's better for everybody, so the individual is unimportant in their world, and control by an individual is verboten. Besides, you should be well aware that the risk taker didn't actually build that.

no because you continue to ignore the fact I said multiple times they aren't applicable on standardized tests. I've repeated it many times and you keep going on about grades, quizzes, projects, etc. You're discussing classwork not testing which was the point you quoted initially
When I was in school we had practice FCAT tests.

I don’t understand the liberal argument for a minimum wage hike.

Liberals say we need illegal aliens because of cheap labor and we need to raise the minimum wage because people its not a livable wage.

Which is it?

In Seattle for the weekend. Everything in my sister's neighborhood was closed in the evening on the 4th. Restaurants, bars, etc. Nobody wants to pay time and a half when min wage is $15

That sounds like wages are about where they should be then.

Too bad most of those employees are taking home less than they were before the wage increase because their hours have been slashed to hell.

That's an ncentive to look for a better job. Plus they are making more money for the hours they do work so they should have the time and means to find one.

Why do they have to pay time and a half? I don't get any overtime at all for holidays. If you fly my company and are going to see grandma on a holiday, the pilots get NOTHING extra to take you there.

It depends on the state law. They don't have to offer time and a half on holidays in WA.

Of course it does.(depend on state law) Which is why Huff's argument is typical hyperbole

The only time you have to legally pay overtime is when a non-salary worker is over 40 hours a week. That's all federal law gives ya.
