The longer Hart stays quiet the worse for Dooley

The real problem with the OP is that I don't know if things could get any worse for Dooley. At this point it almost seems unfair to keep him hanging on.

In my opinion, there is nothing to gain by making an announcement now. Losing aside, Dooley has done nothing to embarass the university ala Bobby Petrino at Arkansas. Out of respect for the man, Hart will wait until after the Kentucky game to announce that Dooley will not be retained.
I also firmly believe that the search for the new coach is fully underway and will in no way be hampered by allowing Dooley to leave with some semblance of dignity. Hart knows he's done. Dooley knows he's done and everyone here knows he's done. There is no reason to throw poop on the man as he's leaving.

again...JMHO.

Good points.

Have you thought that maybe the next guy in line would appreciate Hart staying quiet as late as possible to give him cover? Just sayin...

I don't normally boo because I don't want the players thinking I am booing them, but every UT fan had a right to boo that inept coaching then and there. That was a loser mentality by a loser coach. He played not to lose instead of going for the win and that usually gets you beat.

Got to be honest. I booed and its the first time I can ever remember booing Vol player or coach, ever. It was that bad.

You're 0-6 in the SEC. What the hell have you got to lose??

At this point I'm convinced one of three things is true:
1. Hart is a genius and has a master plan
2. Hart is an idiot that doesn't value his job
3. Hart wants a buyout too.

I put 90% chance for 1) and 10% for 2). My question is in regards to Jim Haslem. Is it more helpful for him to

1. Open up his checkbook for UT's next coach and the buyout of Dooley?

or

2. Open up his checkbook and get Nick Saban as the new coach of the Browns?

Personally, I like Option 2) just to screw with all Bama fans.

That is the only reason I'm not calling for Hart's head. I truly believe that to be the case.

I still don't think it could get much worse for poor Dools.

Trust me, if he wants he can do both and not even realize the cash is gone.

Oh, it could get worse. Lose to Vandy on Saturday and I don't think they'll let him in the stadium for Kentucky.

I want to believe, but I can't help but think that Tennessee is butchering another coaching change.

I really don't think he cares about Dooley. He's on his way out. Perhaps he learned from the Saban hire that life is easier if you keep quiet... Just sayin...

I just hope they don't do anything stupid like hire Al Golden. Hell, Miami fans already want to fire him at the U. I have to hear about it everyday at work from fans and a former RB who played there under Coach Howard back in the 80's at work.

I mentioned Golden's name and they laughed and said he isn't no better than Dooley. They both came from nobody colleges and played nobody and they both took in terrible messes to get the jobs!!!

I understand. If we have a "next coach", we are on his timetable.

In that case, the longer Hart is quiet....the better it is for all of us.

I've only been hung up on one thing. In the beginning, I had heard that the "next coach" was very concerned about not being the cause of Dooley being let go. I'm not so concerned about that anymore.

Remember all the stuff Saban and bammer went through? This is a very easy way to avoid that. Soon as all the pieces fall into place the fans will forget about the few weeks of not knowing.

That has been my primary argument all along. The minute Dooley goes...people have to start publicly commenting on the job, whether we have offered them or not. It becomes a circus.

How confident are you that the "next coach" will actually be the guy when it's all said and done? I know you have answered this but I didn't know if anything had changed.

For me it will be the "next coach" until it isn't.

I've never been a 100%, but I'm safely 80%.

I think there is a definite misinformation campaign in full force right now.

They know.. It's been discussed.. They're playing the year out.. I just can't help but feel Vandy has a huge underrated weapon this week.. Dooley's game management..

HE IS GONE. Even Clarence Darrow, Bruce Cutler or Lewie Donelson could not make a compelling argument for him to stay

Dooley requested Kenneth Cochran to represent him, but Kenny said he would rather stay in the grave.
