Wish we could test the theory that a coach with a pulse, wouldn't have made a difference.

I call BS on #1 A good coach can get his teams attention. They might of still lost but at least they would lose fighting. there was no fight in this team and Martin is a joke.

That's basically what I said.

Well, I'm willing to bet we'll do the whole late season run and we'll all start our diurnal checking of Lunardi's "first in/out", but that's hardly something to exactly look forward to at the moment.

That's where TN basketball is now.

Cuonzo is reminding me more of Dooley every day. Nice guy, real organized, talks a pretty good show, classy hire. And in the end, CAN'T. FREAKIN. COACH. HERE.

This isn't personal, it's business. I like Cuonzo. I'd be proud to have a beer with him and talk shop any day. But, he's out of his league. Pure and simple.

An we shouldn't have to be in that situation. Tonight was just another embarrassing performance tacked on to a disappointing season.

Tennessee is 11-7 with a team full of upperclassmen. Martin is as bad if not worse than Dooley. If Martin is here next year we will be at best a .500 team with the recruits Martin has brought in, a team of 3 star recruits.

Might as well make this short.

1. It doesn't matter who was coaching. Tennessee didn't want to be there.

2. However, the game plan was awful. Offensively and defensively. There was no purpose on offense, and the decision to switch on ball screens against Florida was about as stupid as it gets.

3. Jordan McRae played his worst game in two years. Florida was allowed to be physical with him, and he couldn't do anything.

4. Antonio Barton's starting spot should be in jeopardy right now. That performance by him was the worst I've seen at the PG spot since I can remember. That was embarrassing. Scottie Wilbekin outclassed him.

5. Tennessee's starting backcourt was 2-29. I don't even know where to begin.

6. The lack of bench for Tennessee is killing them and you can see it. They had nobody that could come off the bench and contribute. That's a bad sign.

7. Bernard King Player of the Game: Jarnell Stokes. He played like an NBA first round pick tonight. He had a great game and I feel bad for him that he had to watch his guards put up the **** they did tonight. He could have mailed it in and no one would have played him. His effort was there all night.

8. Tennessee must learn that shooting 3's on the road doesn't win ball games, getting paint points, free throws, and stops do. The LSU game was an aberration and they have failed to recognize this.

9. Tennessee had 16 offensive rebounds. That's the only positive other than Jarnell Stokes I can take from this.

10. Make them watch this on a 24 hour loop. Or burn the tape. One of the other. Despite the "Woe is us" mentality most will take (and not unfairly) this doesn't change much from a tournament stand point. It was a worse case scenario for Tennessee tonight. If they beat Ole Miss on Wednesday, they will be back on track. For tournament purposes, Tennessee must win every home game the rest of the year. That will be a really tall task. It starts Wednesday.

I agree with everyone but 1. A coach worth his salt would've had his team ready. This team wasn't ready in the 1st or 2nd half. That's on Martin and his coaching staff. We're not getting better. That's on the coaching staff. Hopefully, the coach makes them watch this game 24/7 and fires them up. However, they laid down today. There is nothing that pisses me off more than when a coach loses his team. Martin lost his team today.

Let's face it. Our guard play is consistently inconsistent and has no firepower outside of McRae and FL completely shut him down. We miss Trae Golden more than I thought we would. Barton doesn't bring a lot IMO. Thompson is young and panics when teams press. Hard to win with poor guard play.

With perimeter play like that, we could dig up John Wooden and get the same result.

Agree wholeheartedly. Your perimeter players can't shoot bricks the whole game and you expect to win. Great effort by Stokes though.

Tennessee had it 15-15 with 9 minutes to go in the first half.

How is that not having your team ready?

The adjustments were awful but it was single digits at halftime.

With that explanation, I would say Donovan made adjustments at the half to make Cuonzo look like a high school coach.

Dooley was a pompous jerk that thought he deserved his job here even after he had proven the opposite.

Martin is 10 times more likable and easier to pull for.

Neither have or had proven they deserve to coach here.

Also, comparing Dooley to Martin is silly. Martin's accomplishments blow them out the water.

Hopefully people won't defend Martin, as they did with Dooley, to the bitter end. You have to call it like you see it, it's been an underwhelming season..

We learned nothing from the Derrick Dooley twilight zone and it is regrettable. Most of you hoping for a tourney invite are in for a let down. College athletics starts with Jimmy and Joe's and then someone to coach them. I knew we were in trouble the minute Martin stepped foot on campus when he offered Q. Chievious. Please AD if you have a brain stop the madness.
