The (many) indictments of Donald Trump

Do you believe trump was saying “make up votes that aren’t there” or “find missing ballots because I’m convinced I won”?
Like a mob boss, Trump understands the importance of being imprecise with his language while he is speaking on the phone. However, he didn't just tell Raffensperger to find an unspecified number of missing ballots. Trump did have an exact number in mind. It was 11,780 because in his own words "That's one more than what we have."

That was despicable. He was using his stature to try to pressure Georgia's Secretary of State, to not just uncover voter fraud or missing ballots, but to add the specific number of votes to his total, necessary to overturn the outcome of his own defeat.

This was an abuse of power.

If you look at the full conversation trump actually told him that he won by half a million votes but he wanted him to at least find that many that he believed had been shredded.

How’s that an absurd of power? If he believes his votes were shredded, shouldn’t he want them found?

Yes. Trump was doing his best to intimidate Raffensperger. Raffensperger has even said that he felt threatened while on the call.
And they keep ignoring the fact that he is a die hard conservative. (It's not like he wanted Biden to win)

I didn't say that it was "abusive" ... I said that it was an "abuse of power." As President, Trump was trying to pressure and intimidate Raffensperger into assisting his efforts to overturn the outcome of his own defeat. It was inappropriate as hell.

Read it like Trump the candidate and not Trump the president. You know that legal term "standing"? If Trump, as president, had gotten involved with an election other than his own, you might have a point. It was his election and votes for him that he was discussing; he was standing up for himself. If you think looking after a personal interest while president is wrong, then we better be going back decades. Maybe you think that someone powerful should not be able to defend himself in the press or in a courtroom ... because that would be "abuse of power". Wasn't it you that disagreed with me that Clinton abused power by having an inappropriate relationship with a subordinate? Funny how you guys like to flip flop.

Also how is "abuse of power" not "abusive"? Isn't either a case of using position to force, coerce, or bully someone subordinate in some way to change?

Find the threat. It’s not about “how conservative he is”, but rather a matter of substance. And there doesn’t seem to be any substance behind the claim. Where was the threat?

Disdain for the left began the minute there was something defined as the left. Same for the right.
You should know by now P Jaz, that it's all about the continuum (the amount of disdain).

No, disdain for the left in this country began the moment a leftist stepped foot on US soil and opened his foul mouth.

He didn't believe he won by 500,000, he didn't believe he had votes shredded....he was throwing out sh!t while threatening Raffensperger to rig the count in his favor.
That's the message Raffensperger (a die hard conservative who did not like Biden) clearly received. We'll let a jury sort it out.

I have looked at the full conversation and I have listened to the full conversation. I have even made the full audio of the call available to this forum in post # 4,000 of this thread. You don't have to tell me what is said on the call. I have listened to it, in it's entirety multiple times now ... and I have also read the complete transcript of it.

Trump didn't want to add an unspecified number of votes to his total. He wanted to add 11,780. Why that specific number? Did Trump know exactly how many fraudulent votes had been committed? No ... that was the magic number, because as Trump even admits, he knew that was what he needed to win. This call had nothing to do with fraud. It's purpose was to overturn the outcome of Trump's own defeat in the state of Georgia.

Which is kind of what I said.

No you said disdain happened/happens when someone puts a leftist label on something. I said disdain is the result of any leftist being here and opening his foul mouth - because that's when abhorrent ideas are voiced with or without a label Obviously we are a tolerant society in either case because FDR was elected three times.
