In other words you'd agree that the prosecutor have all the time in the world to build a case, and the defense have none. One of the defendants has a couple of plays in motion: one to separate the trials and another to basically unseal all the records the defense holds. On the outside it would seem that if you try everybody together and follow the rules then each defendant has far more evidence due him/her than if they were tried separately - since each defendant should see all the prosecution has against all of them. In any case going through all the available records and developing a defense still takes time.
Seems like the defense should get all the time the prosecution took to put it all together ... and that would push things after the election unless they argue the prosecution didn't start until well after the election ... and that would beg the question of why they stalled until it would interfere with the upcoming election. Looks politically motivated because it is politically motivated.
