So an entire pallet full of boxes that had been held by GSA somewhere outside of DC is dumped at Mar-a-Lago. Apparently these are the boxes that ended up containing papers with "classified markings."

I will double check indictment but I don't recall this event in the timeline:

I have been reading articles about this...as far as I can see there was no "chain of custody" with these boxes as to where all of the locations these boxes had been and who all had come into contact with these boxes.

It’s likely overreach, as most have agreed, but NY is well within their right to pick up something the Feds drop. I was involved in a Federal felony case where the Feds were willing to drop the charges. However, the state could’ve then picked it up and likely would have so the better play was to give the Feds a win with a misdemeanor conviction and probation.
