The Masters Tournament

Rose with 4 straight birdies, -11 for the tournament and still 5 back and likely going to fall 6 back.

I thought Spieth had a very successful day today. He had 3 bogeys and a double bogey, yet still shot 2 under and only lost one shot of a 5-shot lead.

All he's gotta do is shoot -2 again tomorrow and he'll win regardless of what anyone else does.

I'm certainly not rooting for Spieth to implode today, but if he slips a little bit early in the round this could be one of the best Sunday's Augusta has ever seen with Rory, Tiger and Phil all in the final three pairings.

Rose, Phil and maybe Hoffman are the only ones with a shot. 10 strokes back for Rory and Tiger mean they have to do something remarkable and Spieth has to have shades of VFB on the golf course.

That's not exactly an easy thing to do at the final round of the Masters.

Great thing is, with these conditions, somebody could conceivably go real low today. Sunday pin placements always make for an entertaining final round.

I could be wrong, but I'm thinking that 6 back is farthest anybody has come from behind on the last day.

The only gripe I have with Augusta National is that it would be neat if 17 and 18 were a little more dramatic. After the treachery of 11 and 12, the drama of the two par 5s and the funnel effect to the Sunday pin on 16, 17 and 18 are almost an afterthought.

I'm with you on 17. I find it to be one of the lamer holes on the course, overall.

I know this is going out on a limb, but it's looking like it's going to be Spieth, Rose, or Lefty. I wonder how badly that missed birdie on 18 will end up haunting Lefty.
