The Matt Walsh Thread

Dumb take in a dumb thread.

Yeah, but not really and he already has a nice looking wife.
Geez, guys....
Then maybe he should leave the arranged marriage advocacy to her or at least somebody who looks a little less like their barber replaced the style catalogue with the sex offender registry. 😂

I don't know he is actually advocating arranged marriage or using it as literary foil.
"..sex offender registry" says the guy with a pinched face avatar that might fit that bill.
See? - random insults are purposeless.

He did a documentary called…. What is a woman? It has upset liberals and they have been attacking him more…. I don’t think he really matters or has much influence.

I saw two segments of the documentary and several other videos afterward. His YT channel has 10s/millions of views, so he is an 'influencer'. He attacks, legitimately, the subjecting of children to trans/queer ideology, the depravity of chemically/surgically/socially transitioning them, and militant leftism generally. If nobody knew about him, he wouldn't be a target.

From the handful of vids I've seen, he's a Ben Shapiro type but without an obvious sense of humor.

Random insults are your stock & trade. John Currie probably belongs on the sex offender registry. That coaching search was a sex crime in 37 states.

Dude is getting weirder and weirder. I was gonna post some stuff before but there was no thread that seemed appropriate. He just keeps coming out with wildass ****, so here's the thread.

View attachment 497935

You should really start researching some of this before blindly repeating what media matters says.

If by defending teen pregnancy you mean he stated 17-24 is when women are most fertile, then yes. It was part of a longer dialogue about how so many are delaying having children today.

The comments about adolescence were along the same lines. About how society today expects too little of that demographic and how in previous generations they would’ve been starting families and working.

The comments about arranged marriage were part of a longer segment about how broken modern dating is and how low marriage rates are. He compared it to scrolling Netflix all night only to end up picking nothing and said arranged marriages would lead to more happiness for these people. He never claimed we should have arranged marriages nor was the overall point of the segment about arranged marriages. Rather it was about how broken todays institution is.

For anyone interested start around one minute and it will end around 13

He is saying that "without a doubt" it's "superior." Even if people were "happier" then and we could prove that, there is no reason to believe this antiquated system would work for people today. He's just ************ and overselling it.

It's pretty wild to say that too many choices is worse than no choice, if you ask me, and I think that line of thinking is dangerous.

Is he overselling it? You should actually watch the segment before commenting. It’s roughly 12 minutes long.

Watch the segment and tell me where in it he says “we should force people to marry against their will”?

He does not advocate arranged marriages.

😂🤣 Why would I care to show you where he said something that nobody ever claimed he said? He says the quote from the OP verbatim.

Have we really reached the point on this forum where the best excuse that can be made is to try to conceive of an even dumber thing that [insert no-name right wing pundit] could have said, but didn’t, and then throw down the gauntlet as if their failure to be as stupid as humanly possible is enough to redeem the funny/stupid thing that was actually said?

I think I’d rather just pass on listening to such a person altogether, but that’s just me.

He has 1.8m subscribers on youtube. For reference, Ben Shapiro has 5m and Ben Shapiro is huge and has been doing this a lot longer. Walsh has a lot of influence and it's growing.

Never get roped into an argument with 8188. He doesn't care about the fact that nobody said that. He is compelled to distract from the point.

Isn’t distracting from the point the actual point of you taking his quote out of context?

Isn’t that actually what you’re doing? If you listen to what he said the point was that “dating around” is a negative and instead people should only focus on “dating with the intent to marry” so as to drastically limit their options so they don’t get paralysis by analysis.

But your actual goal here is to distract from the point

Because I’d hope you realize the importance of context in analyzing what someone is saying.

Sure, dude. You can bury the lead in a 56' video link.

2' of context is plenty.

Daily Wire host endorses arranged marriages: "It is, without a doubt, superior to our system"

It’s only a 12 minute segment of that video running from around 1 minute to minute 13. If you’re going to pretend the guy has crazy views, you should at least take the time to listen to what he has to say.

Assuming you actually care about the truth and aren’t just attempting to dunk on someone

You make one prestigious medical institution look like a bunch of money-grubbing child butchers, and all of a sudden the mob is after you.
Ah I’m connecting dots now.

Was it Matt Walsh that published the recordings of the VUMC Dr talking about the financial benefits of pediatric trans surgery?

That's unsupported nonsense. I attack positions, arguments and character of malevolent people, not how they look or dress.
The Currie comment is humorous, though.
