I live with a family full of UK fans/alum. UK fans just like being UK fans and love to show their UK fandom (is that a word?). So filling up a stadium wearing all their UK blue stuff is just another opportunity to do that. Its a lot like Notre Dame fans. Its to be commended, in my opinion. But basketball is their core and that's the only thing they live and die for (figuratively speaking).

In a normal season 75% of the games are hard. The fact UK has progressed from worst of the worst to slightly better than the worst is at least progress. Years past we would have died to be 4-4 right now. Similar to UT this season, it's not that we are losing, it's the way we are losing.

Right, the fact is UK has improved and if most people are honest they was worried before the game. You are talking about a AD department that for 30+ years could careless about the football team.

I think they are going in the right way. Its just hard for UK to get the great players in football when your program is where it is. Just like some programs in basketball thats not really known as winners.

Don't take what im saying as putting you down. I really think you are going the right way and im hoping to see them beat candy down.

LC I do believe you guys will get to a bowl. You will beat UNCC and Vandy. I think you beat Lville too but rivalry games can go either way. I hope you get Boom back for bowl but that backup ran hard last night.

I'm pretty sure yall get to a bowl game, maybe even 7 wins. UT is just a tiger walking in sheep's clothing so people are surprised when we nearly beat Bama and blow out teams with similar records.

It's not just because of where their football team is, they're a basketball school. It is what it is.

I think UK is being built the right way. It takes longer, but it will last longer once finished, too. I don't think its crazy to think they could move up to a spot similar to what Carolina occupied for several years. All depending on Stoops panning out of course, but still...

I think when UK putters around and finishes 5-7 and does the same in 2016 they will be looking for a new head football coach for 2017.

I don't understand why people were worried. Even when UK was at the height of it's football power under The Bear they couldn't beat UT!
(Bear Bryant was 1-5-2 against UT while at Kentucky. He won in his last year - 1953 - the first year without Neyland)

You were honestly worried about losing to UK? Come on.

I don't hate UK, well football at least, but if I'm honest, they haven't really improved nearly as much as people have acted. The admin is committed as far as I can tell to at least attempt to field a competitive team. I think it's an insult to put them in the same breath as Vandy because no way Vandy would do the renovations to their stadium and facilities that UK has done.

But people got all excited for 2 years in a row because they beat a bunch of nobodies. This year it was because they beat Mizzou and SC, and both of them are terrible. They also barely beat ULL and needed OT to beat Eastern KY.

Put it another way, if they end up 5-7 I don't know how you can't say this year was a disappointment, especially when you were 4-4 and had a down UGA, Vandy, Charlotte, and a down Louisville left.

I don't think 8-4 is out of the question depending on how UGA responds, how down Vandy is after they play UF, and what shape Louisville is in by the time they get to Lexington.

I think with KY it's two fold.

We are much better than we appear considering how Vegas and statistics rank us, but just as we are a tiger in sheep's clothing, this is now two years running that UK has been a paper tiger up until halfway through the season. They have that weak front loaded schedule and fans get excited and expecting more than they should, then they hit the hard stretch and get taken back down to earth. Sort of the Anti-UT schedule if you will.

As a Vol fan, I feel sorry for Kentucky fans! This team is really terrible! Vanderbilt scored one defensive touchdown and one on a "trick play." Their offense is awful! On the other hand, you guys can become extremely obnoxious during basketball! Guess I really don't feel too sorry for your program! GO VOLS!
