The problem is that so many individuals in today's society can't look at themselves as the source of their own problems. It's always someone else's fault. A culture of self victimization has taken hold in today's US, especially so in the black community.
Examples:
Women wonder why domestic violence is still a thing. The vast majority of men would never lay a hand on a woman, so why does it still happen? Could it be because women like "bad boys"? After he hits her the first time, it becomes "I can make him better" or "It would be embarrassing". The victim continuates the victimization.
Black people wonder why the N-word is still a thing when they have made it an every day part of their lexicon.
People wonder why they get shot by police officers. It could never be that they assaulted an officer, it must be their race or socioeconomic standing.
People blindly supports political parties like ****ing sports teams and then wonder why our country is so poorly managed.
Etc... Etc... Etc...
I'm not saying that racism/sexism/ whateverism doesn't exist, but if people fixed the things that they can actually effect before complaining about the things they can't, those problems would fade. If people would just learn to look at their roles in their problems instead of always spouting "oppression" and "victimization" this world would be a much better place.
