I feel like you're arguing with him and he was just adding more to your point that they are screwed. Not sure why you got defensive.

And I'm pretty sure Matthews made up more than 30% of their offense.

Franklin must be supremely confident that he will not be implicated when the rape case goes to trial. If he had any part in it and it can be proven without hurting the university watch out.

My favorite from Vandymania came when a poster mentioned UT's improved recruiting and eventual return to winning.

This poster was met with..."That's laughable, UT is another Kentucky...if we at Vanderbilt have to measure/compare our program by them, that's just sad".

I just shook my head and left the site.

I like how they think that a transition to the 3-4 will be smooth and painless with their current personnel.

Don't be too hard on them. They're just now coming to grips with the fact that James Franklin was fools gold. What they still haven't learned is that what little recent success they've had is fools gold as well. It's a process. They'll get there soon enough.

They keep repeating "we don't need a strong class, we have 21 redshirts from last year"

Translation: "we don't need a strong class, we have 21 guys who weren't even good enough to see the field for Vandy in 2013 coming back this year"

Yep,

We had an offense scoring 35ish per game Dooley's last year, and lost 7 games under similar defensive circumstances. Vandy is going to make this scheme change while losing the bulk of their offensive production as well.

I don't honestly see them having enough firepower on offense to allow the defense time for growing pains...but maybe I'm wrong.

Vandy will not see 2 SEC wins next year. I assume they will be able to beat UK, but even that may not be a given. What gets lost about not bringing in quality talent even beyond the depth required to compete, is that if you practice every day against 2 and low 3 star players, game day comes as a big shock to your 2 deep and you are immediately on your heels. This HAS BEEN one of UT's biggest issues. Hopefully some of that dissipates as the talent continues to roll in and sticks.

I actually saw a post that basically said...

"Don't worry guys, VU will be fine. We still have 4 easy OOC games, and Ky and UT as guaranteed wins at least. So even if we don"t win any other games, we're still guaranteed of a bowl game!!!"

Another poster went on to say that there's no reason for them to lose to Ole Miss next year, and UF and Ga no longer own VU...so another 9 or even 10 win season is a real possibility.

I fully understand optimism...but I also remember how I felt when I didn't get that bb gun at Christmas.

LOL!!! Vandymania is just a weird place. I just read a post quoting Shakespeare's Henry V St. Crispen's day speech to ease the pain of losing numbers in this recruiting class. To quote a poster... "you will never see a more eloquent post on any other message board."... Well... You're dam right!!! If someone posted that shiz here they would be ridiculed until they left the board to hide under their desk curled up in a fetal position. AND IT WOULD BE WARRANTED!!! This is football dammit!!! not theater in the round! Haha haha haha!

I'm starting to think that 95% of the posters on that board are trolls who post outrageous stuff just to make Vandy fans look stupid. I mean, they can't really all be that delusional, can they?
