The meltdown that is happening on the Vandy message boards

Vandymania cracks me up. I just spent a few minutes on there and they think that Derek Barnet is going to flip to them. Also the amout of stars a player has doesnt matter and recruiting services are overrated.

And yet they were celebrating endlessly when they had a higher ranked class than us last year.

Our recruiting class sucks=Stars don't matter. Sounds right to me.

They just added another 5.6 three star OL. He is a high three star on 247 and is close to being the headliner of their class. That tells you all you need to know about their class. Honestly it doesn't matter who they finish with the class still blows esp for an SEC school. Their avg star rating on rivals is almost under 2.7 now.

For a school that is so irrelevant in the eyes of many of the Big Orange Faithful, Vandy sure does have a lot of threads and get talked about quite a bit...

yuup...their board reminds me of our boards not a little over a year ago.

Just found this gem over there.

I think we should call them ut, instead of Tennessee, for sure they don't represent the state of Tennessee.

Vandymania is hilarious.

Don Yates thinks their 2 and 3 star recruits are future Super Bowl champions. :post-4-1090547912:

I see they beat out Army, Boise State, Idaho, Montana and Nevada for a recruit today. Vandy is on their way to beating the Seahawks in future Super Bowls. Let the celebration begin!

:baloon:

Intellectual brutality, this one takes the cake -
Way to go, CDM and staff!!!

Guys, our new first-time head coach is literally building the bike while he rides it.

In two weeks, he's assembled one of the most impressive staffs in the league and, I think we can all agree, has already SAVED the recruiting class.

And the sum***** ain't even done yet...

Okay, we might as well give up. Does anybody sell the black and gold crap in Tennessee? I have a son in law I want to brutalize.:)

Just got a 5.5 3-star WR that they beat out Wyoming, TCU, UAB, Mercer, Kent State, South AL, and Mizzou for. A 5.5 3 star actually raised their avg star rating lol. They had had about 8-9 verbals in two days and still can't crack the Rivals top 60.

Still dead last in the SEC by a wide margin too. Unless Mason pulls some 4*s out of his ass, they will finish no better than 45-50th in the country.

You know as much as I hated Dooley and the class he was putting together before he got fired, I do have to admit that even his worst recruiting was only slightly worse than Vandys best.

Its also made me realize how great it is to cheer for a school that actually matters in CFB. We can fire coaches, have coaches leave and everything else these past 5-6 years and we never had a class crumble like Vandys did.
I'm also glad Mason went with what the Vandy fans have been saying when talking to recruits. instead of selling playing time in the SEC, he clearly is selling academics and degrees. Be cause we all know that teenage boys that are told they are great at football are thinking about becoming a doctor or lawyer and could care less about that stupid NFL thing.

They do have the best coaching staff in the country, if by best they mean unimpressive and if by country they mean the MAC. They don't have a single coach with meaningful SEC experience outside of a couple Franklin leftovers.
