The meltdown that is happening on the Vandy message boards

Over, looking at the schedule I see at least 5 games they win. It might be the 2015 season before the wheels fall completely off for them.

I tend to agree but the UK game may be a toss up.

Some on Vandymania believe they know who the "2 secret commits" are that their coaches are holding back...

Posted: Today 12:07 PM Re: Remaining predictions

i have two remaining predictions and they are we flip barnett from tn to vu and sawyers signs with vu.i think both really want to stay at home and play right here in their back yards.these are just my thoughts on the way they have followed our team and some things they've reportedly said.

not only has it been pleasant to see all this unfold, but just to make you feel better, I live in the middle of it and you can thank this kid for putting mouthy vandy kids in their place each tues and thurs night. And he knows which ones they are. Because we talk about it.

They think playing Northwestern every year makes their schedule too difficult.

Says it all... their football program is pathetic.

Also, I see that that they picked up a quality quarterback today.

Offers... Akron, Florida, Marshall, Pittsburgh, Samford, USF.

One is not like the others... then again, Will Muschamp doesn't know what a good quarterback looks like. Obviously, the Florida offer wasn't a standing offer. Florida may have offered at one point but they clearly yanked the offer. If you remove Florida from the list, Vanderbilt is on par with all of those programs.

Vandymania...

Several threads on the Pittsburgh board about this. They think he is "gonzo." Can't believe the down-the-stretch avalanche we have enjoyed in recent days. Welcome to Freebeck and contrats to our new coaching staff.

That site is good for laughs. They picked up another trash player.

:baloon: - Vandy party

I still can't get over "intellectual brutality." It sounds like someone non-consensually dry humping the back of your head. Yet, it's their new slogan...

they are so pumped about these kids is the hilarious part. their whole class prob has less than 10 SEC offers combined. that is sad.

Surprise

It's an Insider's article so I won't post all of it, but Vanderbilt and Mason was included in the predictions.

It says this:

This will be Mason's only bad Vanderbilt class
New Vanderbilt coach Derek Mason was asked to do the impossible. He was given less than two weeks to turn around a Vandy class that was devastated by the departure of now-Penn State coach James Franklin. A highly rated class just wasn't going to happen. But Commodores fans should take comfort in knowing this will be the worst class Mason signs while he's in Nashville. He has a tremendous eye for talent and knows how to target kids of a higher academic standard. So watch for things to turn around with the 2015 class.

Virginia Slims Moment

5 years ago, we wouldn't even be mentioned in an ESPN Insider analysis like this. No one would have cared if our new coach would be getting his worst recruiting class of his future tenure at Vandy.

We have come a loooooooong way.

Put down the crack pipe

How old is this?

Calling this a 'bad' class might have been warranted last week. Now with all the recent flurry of activity, with some very highly regarded recruits coming on board, I'm not sure that applies any more.

If the current trending continues, I would say something more along the lines of "Mason performs miracles in two weeks; expected to move Sun and Moon with next year's class."

just got an ATH 5.5 3-star . so that makes 10 commits in like 2 days and they just broke the top 65 on rivals and barely broke into the top 55 on 247. this kid's offers were new mexico state, utah state, san jose state, texas state, tcu, wazzou, and a late Vandy offer that he took lol

I think Mason filling the class with warm bodies is a mistake. He should have finished at 15 and went for a big class in 2015.

Then again, he might have taken one look at their current roster and decided they needed anyone with a pulse ASAP.

Apparently the Vandymania folks are "pumped" with this class, and some believe they will be on the same level with Stanford in the next 2 years...seriously.

Why go to Vandy when you can go to Stanford is the question I would ask them.

Yeah Dooley had 2 weeks. His class finished number 27. Not number 72.

If they actually go back and see how Stanford has recruited they will see they have been getting some studs. Not 5.2 2stars formerly committed to San Jose State.

Don't know how to copy from VM from mobile. But someone wrote that after tomorrow top 20 is possible but probably top 40

Yeah, and if you're going to fill the class for the sake of adding bodies, then it makes more sense to get OL and DL that may not have the stars. Redshirt them and bulk them up. Instead, they're filling up with scrub athletes and WRs.

I'll be honest, the fact that Vandy has rallied to get the 49th ranked class (247) considering what they've been through isn't bad. Compare that to Missouri who is ranked 38th after going to the SEC Championship game, and it isn't to shabby.
