The meltdown that is happening on the Vandy message boards

I seriously hate the mouthy pricks. I knew several who, back when we were good, would watch ALL of UT's games just to pull for the other team and would be big time a-holes when we lost (another reason I hated Florida week). They've got p*nis envy syndrome with UT, IMO.

Yup, my wife's sister and hubby went to Vandy and live in Nashville. So their team is Vandy (when they are winning), was Florida (when they were winning), sometimes Bama, and pretty much whoever is playing UT. :disappointed:

And he's a doctor, so omniscient. And they are holier than thou or moi. :disappointed:

Seriously if you want some lulz go to vandymania. Kirby Smart and Mack Brown aren't good enough for them. They think they will get some big name coach and keep on rolling like they have been.

There is also a thread about collage pics of VU fans they sent to franklin as a gift after their bowl win that someone bumped today.

There's a thread on VandyMania about some radio guy named Chris Lee. I've never heard him, but he apparently he spoke with a reliable source that Franklin not only knew several days ago he was leaving (meaning he definitely was going to accept), and that he had contacted a "member of the media he was close to, to get help on an exit strategy".

That story could be a bunch of bunk, but if it's true, who thinks that "media member" was Mr. Travis?

Wonder if those vandy fans realized that it they had that many fans at the games that were at the star walk this morning, JF might still be here.

they were already working on their long distance relationship so why not talk about exit strategy

After looking at their forums off and on for a couple of hours I actually believe they hate us worse than we hate them..

I used to not really pay any attention to them or their fans but now that I have a little bit Vandy has become number 3 on my most hated teams list ( UF and VT are 1 and 2..)

At least Florida, Bama and Tennessee fans have somewhat of a common ground to bash one another from. Vanderbilt needs to stay away from the grown up's table.

How many of you would have transferred from college if your favorite professor left? This is absurd. Do these recruits even know what academic programs Penn State offers?

From Vandymania. Gold.

Here's an oldie but a goodie:

How many Vanderbilt students does it take to change a flat tire?

Two - one to mix the drinks and another to call daddy!

I had to slap myself to make sure i wasnt sleeping still when i saw this thread on their message board:

Phil Fulmer
I don't post much, but I am going on a limb and saying he would be a great coach here.

1. He is from Tennessee. Born and lives
2. Knows how to win
3. Can bring in the recruits

:post-4-1090547912:They are delirious. Why the hell would he go to Vandy.

I read where their AD hasn't interviewed anyone yet and may not make a decision until the end of this week or next week!! Anyone worth a damn in their 2014 class will be gone by then.

This is gold. Vandymania has had this coming for a long time. I used to get on the forums during football season and would be totally appalled at what I read. Things like how they had blacked out Neyland for the UT game and how they were the dominate school in Tennessee. Absolutely pathetic. Go Vols.

They are completely and totally convinced that Vandy has officially surpassed UT in football.

It's funny because the argument changed. In 2011, they were going to be better than us because they were recruiting better, even though they lost on the field that year.

Now that they've won two in a row, they're definitely better than us, even though we're taking recruits out of their own backyard while their class falls apart. Meanwhile, we have more 4* players in our 2014 class than they've ever had in the history of their program.

Can't have it both ways, Vandy turds.

I don't get their arrogance. Their coach left one irrelevant program for another irrelevant program.

I love the thread where they're talking about how some paper in Pittsburgh is already criticizing Franklin, and it's turning into some exchange between a PSU fan and Vandy fans.

For one, the way the PSU fan describes Pittsburgh fans is EXACTLY how Vandy fans are towards UT. And two, it's hilarious to me that those idiots at VM will end up getting into it with any opposing fan that show up there, no matter how respectful they are being.

And yes I realize we have the same type here, but it's the majority of their posters there.

VM is the gift that keeps on giving.

" I would rather have a team that can consistently score in the low thirties to low forties with a defense that holds opponents to the upper teens to low twenties. Defense still wins championships."

Keep counting those championships Vandy....might not take that long, though.

Please tell me these are tounge-in-cheek.

"Les Miles! LSU would love us. They seem to have a love hate relationship with that guy."

"Stoops. He's obviously plateaued at OU. He's done everything he can do there. Time to move on. The time is now."

"Urban Meyer, cause he wants to coach in the best conference again but not in the same division as Bama."

Big 10? Yep, irrelevant.

And I could be wrong but didnt Penn State "go winless" for about 10 years :good!:

I actually researched this because it sounds absurd. They are winless from '98 to '11 because of vacated wins in the wake of the Sandusky stuff. They are not winless on the field and I could find no history of a significant losing stretch. Fact checking is pretty easy with Google, not always fool proof, but most of the time it is. :peace2:

For Penn State's onfield records, see Penn State Historical Scores. They had 11-win seasons in 2009, 2008 and 2005, sandwiched around nine-win seasons in 2006 and 2007. To find a period of consistent mediocrity in Penn State football history, you would have to go all the way back to the early Neyland era (late 1920s and early 1930s).
