The meltdown that is happening on the Vandy message boards

VM is the gift that keeps on giving.

" I would rather have a team that can consistently score in the low thirties to low forties with a defense that holds opponents to the upper teens to low twenties. Defense still wins championships."

Keep counting those championships Vandy....might not take that long, though.

Please tell me these are tounge-in-cheek.

"Les Miles! LSU would love us. They seem to have a love hate relationship with that guy."

"Stoops. He's obviously plateaued at OU. He's done everything he can do there. Time to move on. The time is now."

"Urban Meyer, cause he wants to coach in the best conference again but not in the same division as Bama."

Please tell me you are making these up. Hell, Texas had to settle for Strong and they think Vandy can reel in the likes of Meyer or Miles.

Gotta be a joke.

VandyMania is hysterical! I'm seeing names like Bronco Mendenhall and Greg Schiano. Although, apparently Schiano is not good enough for them.

I believe Derek Mason would be a damn good hire for them.

The way that ship is sinking, Dooley would be a good hire for them.

I actually researched this because it sounds absurd. They are winless from '98 to '11 because of vacated wins in the wake of the Sandusky stuff. They are not winless on the field and I could find no history of a significant losing stretch. Fact checking is pretty easy with Google, not always fool proof, but most of the time it is. :peace2:

Um yeah...that's why I put "win less" in ""'s.... :whistling:

The gift that keeps on giving that is the VandyMania board....

"the little rotten orange could finish as poor as 3-9 next fall starting with the home loss to Utah State for a 5th straight losing year.

(suits me fine)"

Not to even mention that this little nugget is found in a thread stating that Vandy should/could win 10 games next year!

No doubt. I actually envy their ooc schedule. I wished we would have bought out the Oregon game and wish we would buy out the OU game this year. If we would have played Temple instead of Oregon, we would have gone to a bowl this year. Schedule a harder ooc game when we have the roster and stability to compete.

Another gem

"I’m not sure if it is funnier how washed up the Vols are or funnier they don’t even realize their program is a graveyard. All these “great recruiting classes” and they sit home every year and just continue their coaching carousel."

Why does this remind me of that show about interventions?
" I swear I don't what ya'll are talkin' 'bout . I ain't hooked on crack."

Nice to know they obsess on us like we obsess on them.

Lol. They were quick to rub it in our faces that they finished with a higher ranked class last year, but now that we are recruiting at a level they can't even dream of, recruiting rankings no longer matter.

I want Butch Jones to do everything in his power to show them what Anchor Down really means by sinking that program for good.

Really? You'd look forward to playing Old Dominion? C'mon, that's not who we are.

Traditionally, the Big Orange have played at least one ranked/high profile OOC game going back as far as I can remember. Notre Dame, UCLA, Miami, Cal etc...

In fact, back in 1977, Majors' first year, we played Cal, Boston College, Oregon St. and Memphis. We lost to Cal but won the rest. The Vols went 4-7.

Looking ahead to '78, it would have been a perfect time to buy out a game, lol. The OOC games were...#9 ranked UCLA, Oregon St., Army, Duke, and #14th ranked Notre Dame.

I look forward to playing a big game against the Sooners, rather than a season ending, meaningless bowl game.

It almost P.O.'s me how idiotic they are.

This was in response to a Vol poster-
Delusional - I bet you thought you were going bowling this year too. Vanderbilt runs this state now.
Guess he doesn't realize all the top recruits disagree with him.

Here's another epic quote-
Will they fire coach buttch after going 3-9 next fall and pull the trigger again?

You have to remember how delusional the fanbase is.
("we are going to beat Oregon because Palardy is better than their kicker and it will come down to a last second FG") <--was actually heard on local sports-talk radio
Idiot. If one person spoke for a whole fan-base every one of the schools out there would be frowned upon, but since that's all Vandy has we'll give em a pass.

Last but not least, here is a another golden post-
Could have very well and in fact should have won 10 this year - Ole Miss game should have been won and in fact if not for the poor start vs South Carolina had a chance to win that one - and what if we'd won 11 games this year? If's and but's I know... but it's not out of the realm of possiblity that they could win 9 or 10 next year at all.

Smh......

You also know they're below us because most of their avatars consist of disappointed looks on the face of UT fans, or the final score of the 2012 game. Yet, nobody here would do/has ever done something like that after we've beaten/will beat Vanderbilt. It would be embarrassing.
