Vandy would still be down this year with Franklin at the helm simply because they lost a lot of their best players including Jordan Matthews, who has the career record for most receiving yards in SEC history. But they wouldn't be getting beat down by Temple. Instead they probably win a close game against the Owls with Franklin at the helm. With Franklin at the helm, Vandy would have probably won 4 or 5 games this year. He knew that he would be taking a step back this year, and that is one of the reasons why he left when he did. With Derek Mason coaching, I think Vandy will be lucky to win 3 games. I am predicting a 2-10 year for the Commodores.:eek:lol:

Exactly. That little 3 year anomaly was fool's gold IMO. It's all relative to normal expectations. They beat absolutely nobody for 3 years, took advantage of the easiest schedules, by far, in the SEC, and had an incredible run of good fortune given that UT has been so down, that Florida was injury-plagued and an 8-loss team for the first in 35 years and Georgia's roster was decimated by the time they played as well. It was a great 2 year run by Vandy standards and that's all it was.

Breaking News: Next week, Vandy is changing the slogan on their jerseys from "Anchor Down" to "Man Overboard".

Great game Anchor Clowns. There are more fans at high school football games. Way to represent the SEC

Can someone please explain "Anchor Down"? I know I only have a UT degree, not one of those fancy Vandy ones but, wouldn't "anchor down" mean stay in one place, not move, etc? Wouldn't you want you program to be moving forward, getting better? Not staying put? Maybe the Vandy fan can log in and enlighten me?
