The meltdown that is happening on the Vandy message boards

Can someone please explain "Anchor Down"? I know I only have a UT degree, not one of those fancy Vandy ones but, wouldn't "anchor down" mean stay in one place, not move, etc? Wouldn't you want you program to be moving forward, getting better? Not staying put? Maybe the Vandy fan can log in and enlighten me?

They're forever anchored to the bottom of the SEC, shackled at the ankles with the likes of Kentucky :)

They couldn't handle Temple. Wait until Synagogue hands them their a$$.
Frankie Lynn knew the Titanic was sinking fast, so he jumped on a life boat quicker than Bruce Ismay did. Sorry, but when candy is down, I just want to kick even harder.

Not sure if serious. :)

I hate that we gave Musclecramp another year and didn't make a run at Franklin (or Strong). Franklin would have been money at UF.

You want that rape covering up douchebag as your head coach?

And Strong would have told you guys to eff off. He deserved that job when they hired Muschamp.

But let's face facts, even with Muschamp's ineptitude, does a healthy UF lose to Vandy last year?

ETA: And if you want a Vandy coach that bad, I'm sure one will be available after next season. :whistling:

I think he would have done ok in the long run had they kept him.

Had Vandy kept Franklin or should I say if Franklin had kept Vandy, they were still going to fall as a program.
The majority of their wins, the past few seasons have come from beating teams that had issues.
they will beat Ky. and think that they are the big man on the block but the following week lose to Missouri by a score of 50 - 27, at home.....
ONce their schedule became more difficult and Ole Miss was replaced on the schedule by adding LSU or when we got better or when Florida had a game against Vandy when they had a healthy q.b. then all of this " Anchor Down" will end anyway.

That was a cluster eff of epic proportions but every AD in the country should be thinking about not letting your team switch to the 3-4 in one year. UGA failed miserably their first year at it, we tried hard to only win 4 games when we did and now Vandy was Vandy. Again lots of issues last night but their D was abysmal.

Their defense gave up 357 yards of offense, which isn't good but isn't horrible either. Their offense just kept giving the ball away and their offensive line is beyond terrible.

I guess you were serious. :eek:lol:

Agree Strong should have received more consideration before we hired Muschamp. Strong doesn't appear to be fully embraced by the Longhorn Nation, so I'm holding out hope he tells Texas to "eff off" after a year or two of winning more games than he should, yet still being criticized for doing so.

I don't like playing "what if" about last years UF squad. All I know is Vandy walked into Gainesville, soundly whipped our asses, then barely celebrated after the game was over.

As for Franklin, I'd have taken him at UF in a heartbeat after last season.

Why wait Robbie Caldwell is available now

I think it goes without saying that they are going to get blown out by Ole Miss.

That's what I wanted to see happen with Franklin. I think he knew better

Can admins just hide the "New Thread" button in the NCAA forum for a while and let everyone just get this all of our systems in existing threads?

Rocky Top Blitz on Facebook posted:

Breaking News: Next week, Vandy is changing the slogan on their jerseys from "Anchor Down" to "Man Overboard".

Great game Anchor Clowns. There are more fans at high school football games. Way to represent the SEC

:) exquisite

That game was almost surreal to watch. Temple tried to let Vandy back in the game, but the Commode Dores didn't take advantage of anything, except for the bad snap on the punt. It's like it was 2010 again and the Franklin years never happened.

LOL they're back to form over there. An Ole Miss fan posted a nice, encouraging message that was sincere and the replies are essentially for him to GTFO.

I hope Ole Miss wins by 50.
