The mighty Gators

Random question for Gators. It appears DT Edwin Herbert is no longer on your roster. What happened to him?

I have no idea who Edwin Herbert is....he must have been under the depth chart.

Given the bodies we have at DT, he could have transferred.

Are you freaking kidding me? Do I need to pull up the thread where most of you Trolls denied this?

I didn't expect 8 botched center snaps from a senior.

However I did expect UF to drop 2-3 games this season based on the new personnel and the defensive losses.

After watching our defense last week, they're the least of my concerns....they looked very solid.

The biggest concern is not playcalling. I get so fricken tired of gator fans blaming play calling. For 10 years, it's always been the play calling.

The problem was BLOCKING. The perimeter blocking was TERRIBLE, and the OL had a really bad game as well.

Now, with the OL, there is an excuse. Third String OG John Halapio was making his first career start, and had a bad bad day. Maurice Hurt, the back up guard was playing OT for almost the entire game, and he struggled mightily, and James Wilson in a different position as well, and then he got hurt.

It wasn't the game plan. it was a bunch of bad snaps, followed by worse blocking, and then shell shock.

But UF got their crap together and blocked much better in the 4th.

Thus = 187 yards.

They'll be fine.

It would have made no sense to put the quarterback under center if they continued to have bad snaps from the spread. It would have taken a coaching adjustment to do such a drastic change.

Word in Tampa is the Bulls defense is actually deeper than last years (five players selected to the pros). Now if Gators don't clean it up this week they may be shocked. Not thinking this will happen, but CUM is not the same man he was the past few years and neither are his coaches with Strong and Mullin moving along.

Again, I think the Gators will roll - USF got rolled by Miami last year. But those mistakes made last week would have lost them many games.
