The Ministry of Truth thread

That wasn't an endorsement of tax and spend. It is, however, a more sound policy than cutting taxes and increasing spending.
No. It’s the spending. Ss, Medicare and defense are the drivers of our problems, not tax cuts which btw there was no federal income tax for the first hundred years of the “republic” and the country did quite well.

I've said that over and over ....

The only thing worse than tax and spend (the Democrat philosophy) ... is cut taxes and spend (the Republican philosophy).

The reason I even responded to you was because you didn't appear to be stating that at all. It appeared as if you were only blaming one side while in fact both sides are to blame.

Again
What party would that be?

It actually doesn’t matter. Nobody from any party is by inflation being the fault of anyone but Biden.
I'm sorry, but that's not true. Key inflation indicators were on the rise in 2020. That is when Trump was still President.

That is not true.

There were a multitude of facts, including relevant financial data, provided throughout those 5 links, which you obviously didn't take the time to read. It is a fact, that Trump added $7.8 trillion to the debt, and that a majority of that was done before the COVID pandemic began in February of 2020. You are demonstrating both a profound ignorance of the subject matter, and a stubborn unwillingness to examine the content of the provided links... and, of course, admit when you are wrong (which you definitely are.)
Study the numbers ….. and compare to Sloppy Joe and Obama …. Then come back and defend them

A sycophant is a person who acts obsequiously towards another person (not an entire organization). The word "zealot" would be a more appropriate description for what you are saying about me (if it was true).

... but in this thread alone, I have been very critical of Biden for this department of misinformation ... however they refer to it. You are just wrong. Hell, your side can't even admit that Trump was fiscally irresponsible.
Dude…. You’re digging a hole deeper than the sea…and getting pummeled

I've won a lot of arguments on here then... including some with you. LOL.

... and boot-licker is a pejorative term for sycophants. It's not like calling someone an all-purpose insulting name, such as moron or libtard, irrelevant to the discussion.
You’re losing this one like a 75 year old heavyweight boxer …..Just saying

Even my left-leaning friends can't stand him.

i asked the local DNC guy the other day “so how do you see the midterms working out for y’all?” He said “not to good, but at least we have 24 to look forward too”
he’s actually a funny guy.

you can keep saying it but nobody is going to buy it.
Biden is Carter 2.0 he’s done

Biden is way worse than Carter. Carter was a good man that actually cared about the country. We wasn't a great president but at least he tried. Biden is nothing but a career politician that has spent his whole life sucking from the tax payers teat while enriching himself and his family.

Fair points.

When they decided to expand the federal government to larger than it was ever meant to be, they had to find a way to fund it. And the sheep said baaaaa.

They weren’t double digit indicators
Yes, they were.

Explainer: Republicans blame Biden for inflation, but are they right?

* This article was from a year ago, but the points made about how the Trump administration and his fellow Republicans contributed heavily to inflation are still applicable to this discussion.

(Under)

What about stimulus spending?

The main Republican argument against Biden is that his multitrillion-dollar legislative agenda makes inflation worse by flooding the economy with government spending, and promising much more.

His agenda includes the $1.9 trillion American Plan - the only plan so far enacted - and a yet-to-pass $1 trillion infrastructure bill. After that will come his "Build Back Better" social and climate spending package, which is anticipated to cost around $1.75 trillion.

But the annual inflation rates for dozens and dozens of goods routinely purchased by American households - including food - were already at their highest levels in a decade before Biden entered the White House early this year.

That's in large part because of the COVID-19 relief spending enacted under Republican President Donald Trump's administration with overwhelming Republican support in the Senate. It exceeds what Democrats have allocated by roughly $1 trillion.

Now, this article doesn't cite the Trump tax cuts as a contributing factor of inflation, which I strongly believe they were... but it does make the case that it was policies enacted by the Trump administration which began this historic rise of inflation.

I will also point out that I've been the only one here posting links to actual data. The rest of you are just dropping petty insults and talking about how I'm losing a debate that you aren't truly even participating in. You have an echo chamber and I don't, but that doesn't make you right and me wrong. For the most part @DC_Vol is the only poster who has engaged this topic (which has nothing to do with the topic of the thread, btw) with facts, and an understanding of economics.

I knew that you wouldn't even attempt to rebut that post on the merits of the information provided. You are simply not capable of engaging any discussion on merit, or an adult level.
Not with someone that’s obviously brainwashed. You support all things democrat regardless…. Discussing anything political with you is a waste of time
