The Month of May

Enjoy it fellas - nothing matches the spectacle of the Indy 500. Hope one day it returns to it's former glory but doubt that will happen. Still there's nothing like it.

Would love to have been at one of the races that Rick Mears one. Those were some really good races. Last year's race was pretty awesome with the new car. Lots of passing in turn one which is were we sit :)

After the last two years I can't wait to see what's in store for this one. It may not be the month long spectacle it used to be, but race is every bit as amazing as its every been.

I agree the race has been great but it doesn't draw the outsiders anymore. The names don't have the same panache'

1983 for me.

IIRC I went to 83, 85-89, 94-99, 02, 03 and one other that I can't say for sure

Winners I saw: Tom Sneva, Sullivan, Unser Sr, Unser Jr, Fittipaldi, Mears, Villineuve, Lazier, Luyendyk, Cheever, Brack, Castroneves, de Ferran,

Last year was my first year. My brother in law's family is from the area and they have been going for years.

Its like everything else in sports it aint what it was, there was a day when the INDY 500 was the greatest race of the year of all motor sports now i dont think it cracks my top 5.:ermm:

He pulls that blocking chicken **** at Indy and he won't have to worry about wrecking on the last lap.

I am surprised he didn't get a penalty.

I am also used to watching Schumacher race, so that was light stuff from Sato. I think the argument the team can put up is that the back "straight" isn't straight, so he was guiding the car around it. Beyond that it wasn't clean stuff.

Speculation is turning toward Kurt Busch running the double this year, or skipping the 600 altogether, but that seems unlikely.

I would be surprised to see him skip the 600 all together unless he has plans of moving to Indy full time.

If he does decide to do both races it be something that came together very quickly.

Kanaan up there too for now. I wouldn't mind seeing Kanaan win one. He has had plenty of heart break at this race.
