The Month of May

This brings up the thought, would they pull John Andretti to put Danica in that car with a sponsor change, or try to buy her a seat in another car?

Right now they have 4 cars in. Marco is on the bubble and Conway is out.

45 minutes to go and no one is attempting. If I counted right there are 5 on the outside looking in. Marco is likely to get bumped but has 2 attempts left to get back in if bumped.

Team Andretti may fail to qualify two cars this year, not the way to endear yourself in the heart of your sponsor. Especially Go Daddy.com. What's the over/under on how long into the interview with/Danica that she starts to cry?

20 seconds.

What's the over/under before she places the blame on someone other than herself? I'm taking 10 seconds

Danica bumped Conway and Marco bumped Hunter-Rhea. Michael said it was his worst day as a car owner.

Nice to see Marco drive like an Andretti instead of only just acting like one. Where did that speed come from?

30/70 Danica comes back, and if she does, it won't be with AA. She will make money in NASCAR, but she won't have a better chance to win.

Hunter-Reay has now seen both sides. Sucks for him.

Lloyd was the only guy who could bump Marco.

Museum was fantastic. Got a picture with all 4 Mears cars. It's amazing how much car design changed when they learned about down force.

Indy needs to get back to the creativity.

IMS only has only 1 rule: Don't go home until they tell you to go home.

Simona impressed me more than Danica.

Where is Jim Hall when you need him.

I believe the plans for the new Dallara allow teams to choose different aero packages which may be one step back to car diversity.

While watching qualifying was thinking about the days with multiple engines and multiple chassis.

The problem is once you start the arms race, the big teams dominate even more and the small teams start to disappear. Wish there was a good in between.

Indy Pole Day was 1000x more exciting than the All Star Race or even the Nationwide Iowa race. I don't know what's going on with NASCAR this year but when the All Star Race and Nationwide Iowa are so boring it makes me narcoleptic something is definitely wrong.

If Indy would just expand the area of the turns like it used to be in the 80s they could have some really exciting racing there for the 500. Even the way it is now it should be a very good race come Sunday if the weather allows for it.

I was unable to watch the All Star Race so cannot comment, but in general it has been a bit of a disappointment the last couple of years.

Indy qualifying was the most dramatic I've seen in many years. One of the best ever. There was a black horse pole winner to a most deserving car owner, and all the drama and tension bump day provides. Danica, Marco and Lloyd stepped up under tremendous pressure and got the job done. Simone proved that she has the right stuff after a crash that would have had many drivers second thinking. Poor Hunter-Reay, if the two slow cars would have aborted sooner or not run, he would at least had a chance to try to get back in.

Consider yourself lucky.

Looks like Michael has made some personnel moves and bought a starting spot for RHR from A.J.

I forgot to mention how happy I was for Sam Schmidt as well. What a great story.

Confirmed that Bruno Junqueira has been bought out for RHR. Not sure if the car will be pulled or just the driver replaced.

Pathetic all the way around.

I was expecting this to happen if Danica or Marco failed to qualify, wasn't sure if RHR would get similar support or not.

I think it should not be allowed.

It's a crappy rule. However, it is allowed and it has happened before and it will happen again.

It is what it is at this point.

Bruno is 100% class.

That's sad that Simonas only claim to Indy fame is racing with burnt hands.

Yeah, nevermind the car she qualified was an 03 chassis that weighs about 80 lbs more than a current chassis.

Took a lot of guts to do what she did, especially considering the ride she took in her practice wreck.

Did I mention tomorow is only her 2nd 500, in only her 2nd season?

Nothing sad at all about anything she's accomplished to this point.

She outqualified Danica who is in a top tier ride.

I disagree. Why even bother racing if u have no chance? Sure was a great finish by her today. Seems to me if you are decent, you can land a decent ride. Didn't happen with her though. Maybe next decade.

Would you have given Hildebrand a chance at the start of the race?

So damn close to a new hero only to have it ripped away by some talentless diabetic ****. **** Charlie Kimball.
