The new Brian Williams

Hope he spent half as much time working on his freethrows as he has his biceps. Otherwise, who gives a rip.

I think he is flexing and admiring in the picture. I like Williams and just hope he has added some touch around the basket. He is a great passer. Needs to quit playing like a bull in a china shop with the dumb fouls. He has to play more than 15 minutes a game.

Not to draw the attention of the Knoxville PD, but Mr. Williams is well-armed.

Could someone tell Bennie Wylie he's supposed to be working the FOOTball players?

Muscles are one thing, conditioning is another.

I've seen him in person recently. Yes, he looks in the best shape that we've seen, and he's added good muscle and definition. BUT his arms look especially huge in this pic because of the way they're folded and/or flexed. Don't get me wrong, there's DEFINITELY a noticeable difference, but not exactly as this pic is showing. Trust me, he looks more like an ox than a big baby now.

I also posted this on another thread, but this is Brian's Facebook status from last night:
Brian BigBaby Williams "Never been apart of or seen a team that has worked this hard and I mean everyone n its making everyone better knowing there teammate is trying to be better...funny thing is none of this is mandatory vol nation we looking kinda of scary we got 15 monsters ready for the world"

:clapping:  :clapping:

That's ridic... I am pumped about him this year. What he did for us in the NCAA Tourney was freaking amazing.

pumped. I see what you did there.

I love Williams, but have you paid attention to his FT %? All Williams did was play. He was the only true post on the team. Pearl was forced to play him. I love BP but he continued to beat his head against the wall with that undersized line-up. Imagine Chism's production over the last 4 years if he is playing the 4 the whole time, instead of having to defend and play the 5. The dismissal of Tyler forced Bruce into this move. And Williams stepped up. I love having a true big man in the post. However, his two misses at the charity line against State really cost UT a chance at the final 4. That is a fact. So, I stand by what I said. I could care less how good he looks posing in the mirror. If he didn't spend time working on his FT then it means jack squat.

I would think Brian Williams realizes that he missed some big free throws. I can guarantee that those misses bothered him more than they bothered you. Don't just assume that he hasn't worked on his free throws. Take the picture for what it is... proof that the big guy has been working his butt off all summer. I mean he is a basketball player. I'm sure he's worked on at least a few aspects of his game. He's gonna be big for us this year. No reason to hold any kind of grudge.

Roust must be tryna join Hat's clan. Good effort, if that is indeed your goal. Otherwise, GTFO.

This is total garbage. BW played an absolute hell of a tournament; he played at a level that I didn't think he could ever play at. If he doesn't get a tip-in against OSU, we're not even playing Mich. State.

As for the freethrows, Williams shoots around 55% from the line. That's not terrible for a 5. If you want to beat up on some of the players, there are a few that you can pick out. For example, Hopson and Woolridge, but most definitely not Williams.

Hope his hands have gotten better. I cringe at the thought of all the post passes he fumbled out of bounds last year.

This. It's great if he can bench press 400 pounds and all, but if he's still bobbling passes and muffing point blank shots off the backboard it's not going to make much difference on the scoreboard.

"...they're going to be tough but we've got weapons...oh oh that's horrible."

He's swoll!

ya, I was coming out of Nielson (sp) Physics building Thursday and saw him. But honestly I couldn't tell any difference, I guess he may have looked a tad slimer.
