The Night Of

Step dad is way to obvious. I'm going with we never find out and Nas stays in prison. This entire series isn't as much about the case as it is a profile of our legal and prison system. It's based off an English crime series that Gandofini wanted to bring to HBO. Interesting read

TV Query: What does James Gandolfini have to do with HBO’s ‘The Night Of’? – Zap2It

Not finding out who did it is worse than the step dad being guilty(which I don't see as a problem personally.) That is as bad as a network not airing the last few episode of a cancelled tv show.

I still say it was the step dad. He was the guy on the motorcycle that night. The step dad has the most motive. Naz is a complete idiot who is doing EVERYTHING wrong too. Shaved his head, got a hand tattoo of the word SIN. He's asking to be found guilty even if he isn't. I'm still not sure if he is innocent. He admitted to pushing the guy down the stairs, not feeling anything when he did it not knowing why he did it. He stabs the girls hand and barely reacts to it(this could be blamed on the drugs though).

Maybe they're going in the direction of him being found guilty wrongly or possible guilty rightly. They don't seem to really be focusing on anyone else as the potential murderer.

They mentioned Duane and Stone chased him down. Nothing came of that. They looked into the step dad. What's her name met with the weird mortician dude. With only 2 episodes left it just seems too all over the place to come up with a standard "this guy did it not Naz" scenario.

I think his actions in prison are leading to something. He's going full convict in there now.

I thought they were going somewhere when it showed him remembering the night when high, like he was going to start remembering details he had maybe blocked out.

But maybe the story isn't supposed to be what is right to do and wrong but survival in the system, and Nas is doing everything he can to survive his situation. So that's why I say it's not a who did it series but a look into our criminal justice system and how it affects everyone involved. Nas now has power and respect in prison. When asked if he liked his previous life he had no answer. I think he is enjoying some of being in prison

These walls are kind of funny. First, you hate 'em. Then, you get used to 'em. Enough time passes, gets so you depend on 'em. That's institutionalized. They send you here for life, that's exactly what they take. The part that counts, anyways.

Anything Naz has is because of Freddie. If Freddie got transferred or killed Naz would be nothing.

Exactly and NAS had nothing like that on thee outside. So hence the situation and why Freddie asked him if he liked his other life.

I still haven't gotten what Naz is doing to garner all this friendship. Yea he smuggled in the drugs, but I thought It sounded like Freddie wanted him for his education. They haven't done anything with that really. So far the show is just highlighting all the perks of being tight with the boss.

They played chess.

So....how is this going to end? Seems like they're either going to have to squeeze a lot into the last episode or it's going to end rather anti-climactically.

Regardless of the trial outcome, Naz is descending into darkness. Prison tats, shaved head, assault, drug mule, accessory to murder.....he's changed for the worse for life. I think that's the point of the show. Even when you win, you sometimes lose.

Bingo, the trail is just secondary to the character development. It's really dark and I've enjoyed it.

I still think Box doesn't believe he did it. I don't know if anything more will come of it, but dude looks very conflicted to me.
