The NO Bobby Petrino Petition

I would be fine with hiring Petrino. We are looking for a football coach. Walking away from UL & the Falcons were a whole different situation than getting into the affair ordeal. I think the man was humiliated in the public eye and would do well if given another chance. UT could protect itself with contract guidelines. He is the best value hire there is out there IMO. He could win with the talent already here. If he won early, people would forget all about the "issues".

Those saying Hart mentioned "integrity" need to remember that people say alot of things in pressers that do not mean alot when it's time to put the money on the table.

I figure all that rage will go away with a 9 or 10 win season and a BCS bowl in the first year.

How many BCS bowls did he make in his career, muchless first year. I know of one and he broke the SEC string of wins in BCS bowls against Ohio St.

This isnt Hamilton making the hire. UK and AU wont even hire Petrino we sure the hell wont.

only thing that worries me about Petrino is can he recruit. Its going to be hard sitting in that living room and trying to persuade a kid and his parents to come to your program based on integrity and stability.

How many families(mom's/dad's) don't know someone close to them who has cheated or been cheated on? The man did not kill someone. Cheating is not an uncommon thing in this world. The man got caught cheating and trying to provide employment to his GF. For some reason I doubt a parent would slam the door on Bill Clintons, Kobe Bryants, or Tiger Woods face. Just saying.

Ut has no stability at the moment anyway, Petrino would come give his all for TN, and ill bet in a year or two the nay sayers would be yay sayers.

petrino doesnt make sense. if you get the guy on the cheap, his buyout will be cheap and he will bolt once another job is offered. he always does this. if you have a large buyout we could be stuck with him if it doesnt work out. this is a high pressure job, petrinos only other high pressure gig he quit in mid season

Pretty sure it has no chance of happening, but that right there would make me stop giving a s*** about the football program. Hell, I'd rather have kept Dooley for another year than hire Petrino. That pos is a snake that jumps from ship to ship and has no morals.

I'm a VFL, but I can't get behind a pile of s***.

I bet after he beat UF and Bama you would be dancing in the streets and saying how you were a Petrino supporter all along and how your glad We hired that POS....Yes....You would

UT could hire Petrino and protect itself at the same time. If he screwed up or tried to leave before his contract was up we could get paid big time. IF it came down to that and we had to search for another coach, at least we would be doing it with money in the bank instead of hoping a booster would cover it and sign off.

Winning NOW should be a big part of this search or why search at all? Petrino has won big in the SEC with less talent than we have on the roster right now. UT could use the presser he did in August with ESPN to show the man is remorseful and is trying to repair his marriage. His presser when hired would be a great chance to allow him to speak to his mistakes and I think recruits/parents would see a man trying to start over. People make mistakes. Petrino has never had NCAA issues and I think he is a great option and an option that brings alot of value to the hire.

If you will recall that exact senerio is what started our mess with Kiffen. We got our money back from him too. Patrino would be a dagger to our jugular. We shouldn't even consider him and not because of his latest escapade alone but more because he will give this team no stability. Also I would think that most parents of prospective recruits would be less than willing to trust this man to help mold their kids into men based on his lack of morals. In short I think his reputation will hurt his ability to recruit.

If We hire Petrino, won't we have to change the VFL program to the "Vol for a night" program?
