The "Occupy" Rallies

I saw a video of an NYPD cop swinging a baton into a crowd of protesters, but couldn't make out if there was any violence from the protesters themselves. I'll reserve judgement on that. However, 20,000 people were marching last night. There's bound to be someone in the crowd that gets rowdy. No excuses for it, though.

Used to ask my wife what is the barista with the giant holes in their ears, tongue stud, nose chain and tattoo sleeves going to do when they have to get a real job? Now I know.

There's plenty of workplace acceptance for body modification now, if that's what you're getting at.

How is that statement dumb?

because it sounds like Obama telling people to quit whining, crying, etc.

if a large portion of the population believes the game is stacked against them then this comment sounds like a version of "let them eat cake".

If you think the game is stacked against you, you probably weren't gonna vote for Cain anyways.

I don't see any thing gained or lost in all of that.

In certain areas. most fortune 500 and professional companies frown on it.

Love the sentiment but Droski predicted it - he'll saying something dumb that blows his chances. This could be it.

I predicted that just yesterday, and this is it. It will come back to haunt him. So arrogant.

If he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and given things in life, it would be arrogant. But we're talking about a black man whose Mom was a maid and whose Dad was a chauffeur yet he earned a Masters degree, became a CEO and was a director of the Fed . . . I'd say he speaks with some authority on this topic.

That's great, but does not address the impression that the middle class increasingly have, which is that they are being shafted by the GOP call for them to sacrifice their economic safety nets while corproate execs make and take home more and more and more and more and more....

1) Whether you agree with them or not, you ignore their frustration at your own peril; 2) Whether you agree with tem or not, it is incredibly politcally stupid to insult them as lazy, which is what Cain did.

Agree, disagree, see it from another side, whatever. Politically it was an incredibly dumb thing to say.

Nobody that is falling for the divide and conquer/wealth envy strategy was ever going to vote GOP to begin with.

Ignoring your "fall for" lingo, you are just dead wrong. Cain's remark iis ammunition for the Dems to sway independents and moderates that the GOP does not care about their interests.

Heck, you are going to hear about it, I predict, in the next GOP debate. He'll be chided, and correctly so, for simply dismissing them as lazy malcontents.

I could care less if a bunch of socialists, MoveOn.org types, SEIU members, and college students are "frustrated" that the government isn't redistributing wealth at Euro-zone levels.

No GOP candidate with half a brain is going to tee that one up for Cain. He'll turn it around in a heartbeat.

That's wise. Marginalize them. Ignore them.

The Democratic party encourages you to continue with that mindset.

We'll see.
