The Office: Season 8

I honestly don't mind Spader, especially when compared to Tate, who in the last several episodes has been nothing short of horrible. The Florida story arc would be a whole lot better minus her appearance.

I think Spader has overall been meh, mainly because what I was afraid was going to happen did; which is his character is fine in small bits but when given more screen time his act starts to fall flat. But I'll agree compared to Tate he's been masterful. I have no idea why the writers love her so much, she is painfully not funny. Just think if they had gotten their way and made her the new manager.

She's god awful. No idea why they like her.

So now that just about everyone's seen it...How do you think Dwight loses the job?

Perhaps his paternity convinces him to stay in town instead of taking the job?

Ok so I absolutely loved the Jim/Dwight fight

The interaction between the 2 of them has been great this season. I think the writing overall has been the best since season 4. I don't know why they decided to turn Michael Scott into a full-retard.

I'm the opposite, I think the writing this season has been by far the worst in the series; until about 3 episodes ago I thought this season was absolute crap but someone finally wised up and started having Jim and Dwight interact again and it's made a lot of difference.

I really hope this is the last episode with Catherine Tate.

Ugh....more Catherine Tate, now she's back in Scranton trying to get Andy's job.

Seriously....why?

I really hope that her role is short lived. I was watching it with my wife last night and she said she didn't even understand why she was on the show period.

I kind of thought last nights episode was a little lack luster too. It wasn't up to their normal scale

last night was pretty weak. I agree with everyone else that Catherine Tate must go. She brings literally nothing to the table, and the plot line of her trying to steal Andy's job and Robert taking a completely hands off approach and just "let it play out" attitude is completely contradictory to him (Robert) caring so much that he snowballed the new store in Tallahassee.

The Andy/Erin romance was necessary for plot, but they did a piss poor job of writing the two of them back together.

All in all, one of the worst episodes of the season, if not the worst, in my opinion.

i agree, wasn't a great episode. the English chick is starting to get annoying. I was sick yestarday so i watched some old office episodes and I laughed through sickness. I forgot how great they were. I got midway through 2nd season before i turned it off. really funny stuff.

I have a bunch of the seasons on DVD and I love putting them in and watching them all. I wish I had discovered The Office sooner so I could have actually seen the episodes as they happened. No doubt that the show is way different without Michael Scott.

I finally got to see the entire episode last night, and I'm thinking that is probably the worst episode of the entire series. I didn't laugh once at any of her attempts to be funny, and the worst part is it's a gurantee she'll be around at least one more episode with the focus of the episode on her. And yes, California's reaction to it made absolutely no sense; his whole character the entire time has had no problem dealing with people and didn't even have a problem dealing with her last week and now suddenly he's scared to tell her to get out? Seriously?

He tanked her idea but put the blame on someone else. He's mentioned how Joe loves her so much and I think that scares him a bit. She has to go.

I have grown to like Spader's character but after this last episode I would be ok with them getting rid of her and him. Unless they make him come back and get rid of her, then I might be open to letting him stay

Spader has already announced he's not coming back next season. If they make Catherine Tate his replacement I'm done with the show.

But Paul Lieberstein (Toby) is stepping down as head writer so maybe he's the one who loves her so much and she'll be gone. Mindy Kailing (Kelly) is also supposedly leaving for a new show.

Kelly leaving wouldn't bother me that much. She's one of my least favorite characters. Tate getting the job permanently, however, would be a travesty.
