The Office: Season 8

I have S1 thru 7 on DVD. Got 1-5 for a really good deal on Amazon a couple of years ago. Bought 6 and 7 when they came out. Might get this one just to have it. I never fully watched the season.

I think it's pretty telling that there's not even an office season 9 thread.

Anybody still watching? I know it started back last month, but honestly I haven't even missed it.

So far Season 9 hasn't been that bad but you can tell they are setting up for the ending of the show, with Jim having his "side job".

I've watched. Last week's episode was probably the best one since the begging of Season 8, Creed was hilarious.

Up until last week though I thought it was pretty bad. I'm not sure I laughed hardly at all in the first 3 episodes, and somehow they made Andy even more unlikable. Just way too much stupidity going on. For instance, the whole Roy's wedding episode was just stupid. An 8:00 AM wedding on a weekday? Who does that?

The ratings are the worst they've ever been but they're still the best on Thursday nights for NBC (which should tell you how badly NBC is getting destroyed each week). I'll finish the season, I mean I've made it this far, but I'm ready for this series to end.

Yes, John Krasinski is supposed to have a limited role this season and the side job will explain that; Ed Helms is also supposed to be featured less, but so far they haven't set up anything yet. Rainn Wilson is supposed to exit I think around the 13th episode for "The Farm", and Toby is supposed to either leave or have a much smaller role.

I really haven't noticed Toby that much to begin with.

It almost feels like a lot of this season is being forced. Like they are trying really hard to be funny instead of letting it come naturally. I don't know.

That's what I feel like it's been since Carell left. The slapstick type stuff has been increased, like Dwight on the tightrope in the season opener, and I thought was just incredibly stupid.

I've liked it so far. You can definitely tell they are winding it down though. First time that I can recall the camera men talking to the characters.

tonight was okay, I liked every story line except for the Andy plotline.

It wasn't horrible, but not great either.

I was excited that Colbert was going to be on the show, then turns out he just Skyped in. It was only a bit more than a cameo.

They obviously are setting up Dwight leaving tonight with him mentioning all his family to look after. I just don't understand why they've made him so much dumber acting. Tonight he was ok with the Nellie stuff, but the beginning when he was messing with Erin and then the Nerds joke was just....weird.

I just really can't stand Andy anymore. They've made him extremely unlikable.

Watched all of this season so far. I've enjoyed them so far. Obviously not as good as it was when it started but I realize that and just enjoy what it is now.

I have to agree that this past weeks episode was off. Otherwise, four episodes in, this season has been pretty good.

So Rainn Wilson tweeted that NBC is passing on "The Farm". So the spinoff is dead. Probably for the best, I thought it sounded horrible.
