I wish Senior Drill would come back here and admit that he was completely wrong in every stance he had on last years SEC CoY: Richard Dale Barnes.

Well I think you're right on. I saw a Barnes hater on Twitter right after James committed that was complaining that Barnes has only got one 5 star so far. The haters are running out of stuff. They'll be back after our first loss though.

I'd still like to know what the big blow up was that I think was the final straw. I know a lot of stuff was deleted, and I know the discussion was the typical Ziti Barnes stuff, but I also know some mods got involved in the discussion and I think that had something to do with it.

Ziti's not the type to hang it up just because Barnes and Co. managed to land some decent recruits this year. He believes what he believes, just as most of us do. Perhaps he just grew tired of the constant bickering that ensued on here when someone posts something that doesn't fit the narrative of the few that attempt to control the forum??

Lol, come on, stop painting Z as some victim. Z dished it out plenty, and had no problem bickering with people, and he started his fair share.

Not buying that he suddenly grew tired of fighting that same fight for years and just quit cold turkey. Nobody argues like him and then quits because people are arguing back. He was as guilty as anyone else of trying to control and force opinions on other people. That’s a two-way street, after all. He simply had the minority, contrarian opinion in this instance. It had more to do with the brush up he got into with ZJC, IIRC.

Maybe, but I still think something specific happened. Like chris said, he's never been shy about arguing with people, and in the past when he's had enough, he simply just says he's done and moves on or stops responding to that specific topic.

Doesn’t seem likely as there wasn’t much bickering going on at the time, and the bolded makes absolutely no sense...are you saying that most people had the same narrative as Ziti and only a few felt Barnes was doing a great job and pushing that narrative?

I specifically remember a big disagreement with Zjc and others and vaguely remember Ziti saying he was leaving or taking a break. Something like that. That thread might have been nuked but I remember because I was there.

No, not what i'm saying at all. Ziti was pretty much the lone wolf when it came to hammering Barnes due to the season we had last year. My comment is aimed more at the forum in general...a few frequent posters who seem to sit back and wait for someone to post something they don't agree with, and then pounce.

BTW, Ziti is alive and well.
