That’s interesting. I think he’s been our worst defender by far when he’s on the court. It’s why I’m a bit pessimistic about his future. I don’t think he’s agile enough to guard 3s or strong enough to guard 4sPember has very good feet for a player his size. I've seen him hold his own against smaller wings on several occasions.
I wish Turner would just decide to play one more game and treat it like a senior day for him. This would fire the team and the fans up and give us a boost in a very important game. I remember we had a d lineman one year that did this against Florida. Announced he was having season ending surgery after the game. Fans rallied for him. Sorry but I can't remember the name.

Agree, it's like they are in complete denial. Taking your best ballhandler out of an already struggling offense and your best on ball defender from the defense. It's a death nail. We will have some moments moving forward but the absolute best case scenario with Barnes being a genius is NCAA bouble.

I think it’s both, but the positioning can be corrected. Even the speed can be as he gets more time in a college SC program. Admiral wasn’t a great defender as a freshman and was a bit slow for an oversized 3 like Pember is, and obv he improved a lotI agree he has been the worst defender by a pretty significant margin, but from my perspective it looks like it’s cause his positioning is bad and his understanding of where everyone is and should be. Not so much his foot speed etc..
So it may very well be correctable with time.
Beating this years Wisconsin team at home doesn't make us an NCAA team in fact lots of NIT level teams will beat Wisconsin level teams and better on their home court. Happens on a nightly basis especially once conference play begins. Besides, I only stated that it's a winnable game not that it was any kind of shoe in.Interesting take given your other posts...
Per KenPom Wisconsin would rank 5th in the SEC, here you are stating “we can definitely beat them”, but then acting as if we are a bottom tier SEC team now without Turner? If we can beat Wisconsin that’s a pretty good sign that we can probably find a way to way 9-10 games in league play, which very well might get us in the dance.
Obviously, he is not gonna be guarding smaller guards on a regular basis but I'm only stating that he moves well for a player his size and has held his on in siuations where he gets caught one on one with smaller guys. You underrate his athleticism. He is not Kent.Sorry - there’s no way Pember can stay in front of a quality SEC penetrating type guard. He’s almost 7’ tall. His length can help on the perimeter, but he’s not shown the quickness to stay in front of smaller guys.
He will be a 4 and guard 4s. Obviously he has to add strength. His agility is very good for someone his size in my opinion. That’s interesting. I also have a feeling most of the regulars here aren't going to be posting much this season, which is going to make this forum even more of place to avoid.
We gone whip they assFor entertainment, check out the hot takes in the LSU-OU thread.
So far I’ve seen:
Hurts is a garbage QB
Riley is fool’s Gold
OU is garbage
We will destroy OU next year
We can be as good as LSU next year
It’s a laugh riot of people that can only process the information that’s in front of them at the time.
