To say JG is the worst QB to ever start for UT is one of the dumbest things I've read on here.
In my lifetime and if he is not, then at the least, the worst multi-year starting QB at UT, in my lifetime (once again, so u will get it right this time), hands down

Saying he is not is the dumbest thing I've heard. U can have JG and I'll take Worley and give u 10 points. Guess there is no way to prove it, but u can ride or die with JG, if u want. But, I predict if he stays at UT, he won't finish next season as the starter and I will be glad. Now this doesn't make me a JG hater, in fact, I think he is a good kid that fought through a lot of adversity this year and, at times, shined. Really proud of him and believe he gave his all for Tennessee. It's just, his all, isn't good enough, imo

Just have to respectfully disagree. Worley was worse in my memory, my opinion of play and there is no meaningful stat you can point to where Worley was better.

JG has him crushed in yards per attempt and completion percentage. That means he completed shorter passes and less accurately.

Rating, TD/INT ratio. All of it.

Why ? Worley could read a defense, didn't have the arm that JG has and no where near the offensive line JG, now has

The offensive line part isn’t true. The 2013 Vols line was the best we’ve had in like, 15 years? Maybe more. 4 of the 5 made NFL rosters including James who was a first round pick.

Raijon Neal (of all people) ran for over 1200 yards that year.

I strongly disagree with your feelings on Worley. Imo, Worley is a lot better than JG and would have won 10 games if he was UTs QB, this year. JG is the worst multi-year starting QB in my lifetime (49 on the 31st)at UT, easily. In fact, probably the worst QB at UT that ever started a game, period
He isn't the worst. The biggest disappointment relative to hype and ranking, perhaps, though J. Crompton may have something to say about that. What Chaney (and probably Kiffin) did for Crompton is what gives me hope for JG as a senior. It isn't a lot of hope, but clearly Pruitt is married to the idea of JG being the guy over his other options, so hope is all we have.

Jumping in here late, but I think he is not too bad from goal to the 15 yard line (85 yards). However, that last 10 - 15 yards is excruciating for him. It is just a mental block that he has. Maybe he can overcome it next year (or not).

Considering that everyone who was not Dobbs was constantly crushed, I think our OL was bad at pass protection

Or Worley held the ball too long.
And Dormady, and Peterson, and Dobbs when he wasn’t on a rollout? They all got injured constantly

Exact same argument people had about Guarantano from two years ago, look how much better our OL has been this year and how many fewer sacks we have

Well first of all, Dormady never played with that unit. and Peterman only played a a single half so the sample size is small.

Secondly, in 2012 that offensive line allowed 8 sacks. If you didn’t know, that’s phenomenal.

The following year all the same guys retuned and in 2013 with Worley, Peterman and Dobbs we still only allowed 15. 6 less than we did this year for instance.

So...no.

2014 after that unit graduated, sure. But Worley was bad with a very, very good o-line in 2013.

Ok, good point, well stated. I think I must have been thinking about 2014.

Are you 6? Justin Worley is the worst we’ve had since probably the 80s before Majors got things rolling.

Worley was terrible, JG is inconsistent but has never played behind a good Oline or played for the same coordinator 2 years in a row.

My bad, sorry to offend a JG lover. He effing sucks, I pray every night he transfers. I really like the kid, just not the football player. He is a freaking basket case. What ? One game over 30 points against real teams in 3 years with 3 WRs that will probably play, at least a game in the NFL. Can't read defenses, always throws late, has no touch, can't 4get the last play and has lost more games than he has won, especially against P5 teams. If he stays, he will end up the backup before next season is over, barring injury.

Just finished reading an article on a player at Lausanne named Cisse.

Post player with many big schools interested but they did not list UT in the schools interested. Any info on the kid on VN?

Cmon Dog - with all that’s important in life and wrong in the world you’re wasting your prayers on hoping JG transfers? That doesn’t seem consistent with your posting history.

JG has been the best of a bad qb room at UT since Dobbs left - nothing more or less. When his chance came, he failed to grow into the position at the rate everyone was expecting. He’s probably about slightly below average for a starting P5 qb which is disappointing for a 3 year starter.

CJP tried to replace him this season but Maurer couldn’t stay healthy. JG may well be the best option for us at some point next season also depending on the progress of the younger guys and injuries. We all better hope he sticks around as he very well may help UT win some games next year.

He is the worst QB to get this many snaps since I started watching UT which goes back to the early 80's. One might say Worley, and I wouldn't disagree. Those two are definitely 1 and 2 on the bad QB list
