Doesn't sound weird, at all. Welcome to Kentucky basketball. That's partially the reason many of their fans are not big on Cal's consistent use of the one-and-done system. They miss that connection to the players, but they enjoy winning and being a top-10 team at the start of every season, so they mostly overlook it.He’s done a lot for that community. Hats off to him
I know this sounds Wierd but I just don’t feel that “connection” to him like other players that have played here. I guess it’s that one and done feel but it’s just not the same for me. Maybe I am alone in that regard

Conversely, I feel quite connected to him even though his stay in Knoxville was brief. He's commented a number of times on his love for the city and the university. Also, his service to others is quite extraordinary and he is just a great human. I find it easy with folks like him. He’s done a lot for that community. Hats off to him

Glad someone sees what Vescovi did as impressive. If he gets in better shape and his body improvements allow him to be more mobile to play better defense then he's got special potential as a 4 year player at UT.

Yeah, I agree. He’s been a good dude, in general, and also seems to stay connected with the university. I didn’t mean for my post to come across as derogatory toward him because he left early. Just hard to get connected to their athletic achievements in one year. But he has definitely stayed engaged with Tennessee much more than I would have expected given we have had 3 separate HCs in the 10 years since he played when his coach was fired. He could have been really disconnected for a lot of reasons and no one would have blamed him for it.Toby has, at least publicly, been more of an ambassador for UT than a large amount of 4-year players.
If he would quit leaving his feet that would cut down his turnovers.Vescovi will be a very good, maybe even great, player for TN if he can improve his right hand. He also needs to take fewer chances and cut back on his turnovers. I have little or no doubt that he'll be coached up and his rate of TOs will fall considerably. His defense might be what will always hold him back.
Gotcha. I do feel a connection with him personally. That could be because I used to see him every now and then on campus. And I bought the #12 jersey.Yeah, I agree. I think I was finishing undergrad when he was freshman. The one time I got the courage to talk to him, he was unsurprisingly very nice and humble. I got a terrible pic of me, him, and Trae Golden in the background haha.If you were on campus at the same time as him, I think it definitely makes a difference. I was 10 years older than him.
For me I expect Keon to be a bit rusty this year coming off the injury and weird offseason. Then late in the year really start to see him turning a corner and setting himself for a huge sophomore year and jump to the NBAI would hate that, but it would probably mean that UT had an amazing season with probably a championship and/or at least an Elite 8 run
