Probably depends on your definition, do you consider Bone/Schofield/Alexander NBA players? If so, I don’t think 4-6 is too crazy. I would bet Springer, Johnson, Pons and James all find their way into a NBA paycheck at some point, for how long may vary, but I think they’ll make a team. I don’t think Vescovi, Bailey, Fulk are out of the question either.
He is definitely making some kids wealthy. But just about anybody at a power 5 school that is a good player gets into some kind NBA summer league or camp. There is a big difference between that and making the NBA.I mean...UT guys who got shots in the NBA under Barnes (so far)
Kevin Punter (played for the t-wolves in the summer league)
Armani Moore (played for the pacers in the summer league)
Grant Williams - active roster Boston Celtics (1st round draft pick)
Admiral Schofield - active roster OKC Thunder (2nd round draft pick)
Kyle Alexander - (played for the heat in the summer league, landed on their g-league squad and was called up for 2 game appearances)
Jordan Bone - active 2-way contract with magic & g-league affiliate (2nd round draft pick)
Jordan Bowden - active Exhibit 10 deal with Nets
So when I say "NBA guys" I don't mean starting line up necessarily like J Rich or Tobias. Bowden's deal is worth almost a million dollars for 1 year he just snagged with the Nets. Hubbs is also still playing ball, but he went straight to the Euro leagues. Springer, JJJ, Keon all 3 are higher rated than any of these other guys (except Hubbs was 22 vs Keon at 23). So yeah I think 4-6 of the current roster guys could be NBA guys, but that also includes the NBA Exhibit 10, Summer League, & G-League in that statement.
From the article I shared: Exhibit 10 deals are one-year contracts for the league minimum salary. The Exhibit 10 contract is a guarenteed invite to training camp and nothing more. If Bowden doesn't make the NBA roster, he can make $50k as a bonus (that is the max, could be as low as $5k) plus the G League contract (which is probably going to be around 50k as well) IF they want to keep him. So the above post about Bowden getting a million from the NBA is not true at all.
As far as NBA players go; the only lock to get a guaranteed deal with the NBA is Keon Johnson. I wouldn't call any other player on this roster a shoe-in to make it to the NBA at this point other than him.

NBA 2020-21 season to have an $898,310 minimum salary for unchanged $109m salary cap
Still, the NBA is a "day to day" based salary. So if he makes the Nets squad then it's worth the minimum. They can also just waive him or "upgrade" him to a two-way contract. So you're right it's only worth near a million if he makes the NBA.
Seems like a good way to try out players before offering them anything. Seems like if he stays healthy and performs well he's at worst going to push 100k this first season after college.
CBA Explained: Exhibit 10 Contracts
That explains the Exhibit 10 contract and how it is used. I will be incredibly shocked if Bowden makes an NBA roster.
Take away his HS star ranking and what has he done to make you think he has a "decent shot"?
The frame is the biggest plus with the versatile skill set
He may stay in college for four years. CRB has a knack for developing players when given time. JJJ is one of the most versatile players on the roster.
Staying all 4 years isn't seen as a positive when it comes to the NBA draft. He may get better, but it doesn't necessarily improve his NBA stock. He has a solid frame, but he isn't a Pons like freak. There are plenty of draft worthy guys with his frame. Lastly, this versatile skillset is nice, but I'm afraid he may develop as a jack of all trades but master of none.
Obviously it is just one game into his second season, but there isn't anything about his game that screams "that guy will be in the NBA" right now. When you project him to the next level almost all of his skills measure out as a "solid" or "decent" at best, but he currently doesn't show being "great" at anything. Being a well rounded 4 year college player puts you at an Admiral Schofield prospect level, but even Admiral projected as a solid 3 and D bench guy with a some clear strengths. You can't say the same for James yet.
