I definitely don't completely understand it, but I think it may be the other way around. Maybe SEC on CBS is done...

Reads like best SEC game won't be going to CBS anymore.

SEC Network is already owned by ESPN basically, so this just allows the ESPN to pick ANY of the SEC games they want, without losing out on the top games to CBS.

The CBS game of the week was the only SEC game not on ESPN's family of networks, already, so this would seem to give ESPN exclusive rights to the SEC.

Basilio’s sources are D-list donors so you can’t take what he floats as gospel. But one thing he will do is to put things out there when true but the powers in charge want it kept quiet. WNML answers to UT. They are expected to sit on certain things.

Basilio also really dislikes Jimmy Haslam. He stirs the pot and endlessly concocts conspiracy theories.

You just need to know what to expect. He’s an entertainer, not a journalist.

So, the SEC Network stays? Just instead of the big game being on CBS it’ll be on ESPN? Cool. Wonder if CBS will pick up any other conference? ACC maybe?

This.

I had read that CBS' original deal was a steal compared to how much the SEC football and basketball rights would be now and that it was probably very unlikely they could outbid ESPN this time.

I wonder what CBS' contengency plan is. Every other major conference seems to be locked in to other networks. ACC is ABC/ESPN too and B10/B12/Pac 12 are Fox. I guess CBS will be showing AAC and Mountain West games.

I think ACC signed has a similar deal with ABC/ESPN. ESPN runs the ACC Network like they do the SEC Network. CBS is probably SOL for a while. I mean they might be able to negoiate showing some games but they won't get the top tiered games.

I don’t listen to the radio so I’ve never heard the guy speak but I’d figure at least 60% of the stuff people post on here that he’s said turns out to be some degree of false
It's usually just the same rumors posted on here...

U all know when I was around 8 or 9, I went to my first UT (Dale Ellis was my first favorite player, quickly followed by Tony White) basketball game, at Stokely. I loved UT football and I played football for the Baby Falcons in North Knoxville. I was the starting QB and MLB, so I was really good. But, in basketball, I wasn't just really good, I was better than everybody I played against that was my age or even a year older. So, UT basketball became my favorite sport of all and I've always wanted UT to make a Final 4 and of course, win the whole thing. I think after 40 years, this is the first time that UT has a realistic chance to make that little kid's dream come true. Maybe, the year, we beat Memphis to go to #1 and the Elite 8 team (underachieved all year), under Bruce and Grant's junior year, ranked #1 for a month and had Purdue, under Barnes. Still, I don't think any of those teams are as talented as this one. Although, it would be nice if Bailey and/or Vescovi can be Lofton-like with their 3 ball. Anyway, I have high expectations and like somebody said in another post, I'm going to enjoy the journey and remember, UT could even be better next year. I know "cool story, bro"

This team rivals the 08 team for deepest team in school history. Fortunately, I don't think we have to worry about anybody on this team getting kicked off for weapon charges. Lofton was better than Fulky, but I think this team might be more talented overall.

Hard to believe TN is 1-6 versus Cincinnati and the win was in 1956.

THE SERIES
• UT trails its all-time series with Cincinnati, 1-6, dating to 1952. The Vols' lone win in the series came at home in 1956.
• The Bearcats defended their homecourt last season with a 78-66 win over the Vols on Dec. 18.
• This year, Cincinnati welcomes two key transfers in point guard David DeJulius (Michigan) and big man Rapolas Ivanauskas (Colgate).
• Tennessee owns a 49-43 all-time record against current members of the American Athletic Conference.
• Vols head coach Rick Barnes is 22-20 against AAC opposition.

A WIN WOULD...
• Give the Volunteers a 50-43 all-time wins over current members of the AAC.
• Give Tennessee 398 wins at Thompson-Boling Arena.

LAYUP LINES
• Tennessee has won 77 percent of its games a ranked team during the Barnes era (56-17). The Vols are 12th in this week's AP poll.
• Thompson-Boling Arena has an adjusted capacity of 4,191 this season. All available ticket inventory sold out quickly in November.
• A preseason media poll predicted Tennessee to win this year's SEC championship.
• Seniors John Fulkerson and Yves Pons were both named to the Wooden Award preseason top-50 watch list. Pons also earned a spot on the preseason watch list for the Naismith Trophy College Player of the Year.
• In Tuesday's season-opener vs. Colorado, Tennessee started five left-handers.

TRENDING
• Through the games of Wednesday, Dec. 9, Tennessee led the nation in scoring defense, allowing just 47.0 points per game.
• First-year Vols Victor Bailey Jr. (8), Jaden Springer (6), E.J. Anosike (4) and Keon Johnson (4) combined for 22 points Tuesday.
• After shooting .360 from 3-point range as a true freshman last season, point guard Santiago Vescovi was 3-of-4 from beyond the arc Tuesday vs. Colorado.
• The Vols totaled 12 steals in the win over Colorado (and forced 23 turnovers). Last season, UT logged double-digit steals just three times.
• Senior forward John Fulkerson owned Tennessee's best plus/minus rating in the team's opener, as the Vols were +12 when he was on the court.

Do u all think Fulk will come back and play another year at UT ? Doubt he will be drafted although it only takes one team to fall in love with his motor and game, but I think his best option is overseas. If that's the way it works out, I think, why the hell not ? He's already a borderline UT Basketball legend, if he comes back, u have to figure he ends up, top 5 in points, rebounds and FG% and may be a big part in back to back Final 4 (I know I maybe getting carried away) teams. Opinions ?

He has to go make a living. He can't play college basketball too far into his money making window. He could be one of those guys that can only make 6 digits a few years.

Not drunk, u think Fulk coming back is ridiculous ? He probably will not get much more than a couple of coffee with a NBA team, why not ? Now top 5 in points and rebounds could be far-fetched, but top 10, I will have to check that. But, if u don't think Fulk is a borderline UT basketball legend, then u are wrong, imo. Especially, if we hang a banner this year and I think we have a damn good chance, SEC sucks

I wouldn’t bet on it but it’d make me feel a lot better about next year. We might struggle in the front court if he’s gone
