You keep saying this, and I don't think you even understand the concept. What is "instant gratification" about a guy coaching in his 6th season? What is "instant gratification" about exepecting a team to improve as the year goes on, not regress?

Yeah instant gratification is “why aren’t we winning 25 games in year 2” not “why are swooning after starting 10-1”.

I’m sure something about millennials and society today will get thrown in

All of you guys are focusing on this one season with your plethora of criticisms towards Barnes. Just 2 years ago we held the No 1 ranking for 4 weeks straight, which was longer than any school from the previous 10 years. Last season, we were playing our best ball when the pandemic hit. WTF are you talking about with your 6 year BS. Barnes walked into a sh** show and in his third year, took a team that was ranked 13th in preseason SEC to one of the best teams in the country

Instant gratification syndrome, son, and you have it. Your ilk think Barnes should have a top 5 team every season because he gets top 5 money

That’s still not instant gratification. Also we were 17-14 last year and went 3-4 in our last 7. This is the third straight year he will have underachieved.

Also the problem with your ilk is for you to have something to b**** about like "instant gratification", you have to build strawmen to tear down. Show me where I said anything about having a Top 5 team.

You can say this season has been an underachievement but I don’t think it represents Barnes as a coach.

He’s made the program respectable again considering the circumstances we went through with the NCAA.

Barnes is not an elite coach but he’s a good coach that can get you to the tournament every year.

If you want to focus on NCAA Tournament success then it’s fair to say he’s underachieved.

Hiring a HC that’s had more NCAA Tournament success than Barnes will be the biggest challenge. Hope I’m wrong.

Not getting past the S16 as a #2 seed is. Getting your ass kicked by Auburn in the SECT is. We weren't making the NCAAT last year barring an SECT Championship.

We've been in the top 15 for most of the season, so what are you standards? We're struggling now, but anyone who knows anything about the game knows how a basketball team, with this kind of personnel, can have a "roller coaster" kind of season

We expended every bit of energy beating Kentucky in the semi-finals, so hell no, losing to AU in the finals wasn't underachieving. What a stupid f'ing statement

Thanks for this. Obviously, they use more ball screens, but there are 4 things that I noticed that make their offense much better that have nothing to do with X’s and O’s.

1. Their guards attack hard and go full speed.
2. Their guards aren’t loose with their handle.
3. They look to shoot even with a small opening and don’t hesitate.
4. Their freshman big man gets great leverage and position down low and doesn’t have to attempt to back down his man with dribbling.

These are just little things that can make an offense successful without tweaking the X’s and O’s.
