Hypothetical of Chandler & Bailey leaving, landing Phillips…

Zeigler/Edwards
Santi/Powell
James/Phillips/Mashack/Q
BHH
ON/Aidoo/Plav/Tamba

Maybe Barnes goes smaller and puts JJJ at the 4 and either BHH or ON starting while moving Phillips into a starting spot?

I think what Phillips and a healthy ON allows is for "small" ball to still have good size as you could see Phillips/ON being able to play the 4/5 and potentially keep JJJ on the court at the 3.

I think we'll see ON/Phillips primarily in the 4 role though. Feel like Aidoo/BHH/Uros will be your primary 5 guys unless we go small ball. Tamba we'll see getting minutes but I'll be surprised to see him getting more than 10 a game when the dust settles.

Probably see us starting ZZ, Santi, JJJ, ON, Uros (or BHH). May still see Uros/BHH both starting if ON isn't quite back to 100% once the season rolls around.

If we're lucky...we land Phillips and he's a guy that can play 1-4 like JJJ can, only he'll have more size which would be huge to have that sort of flexibility.

How? My issues with him have nothing to do with his height. Too many TO's and he forces a lot of stupid shots.
Well, because you are being overcritical, for starters, and you don't even seem to have a proper understanding of his most basic measurements. The same way I'd be skeptical of someone criticizing the reliability of a Ford while incorrectly believing it had a V6 engine instead of a V8. It just seems that if you're going to invest so much time and effort on this hard stance, that you'd have at least taken the minimal time and opportunity to know his most simplistic information.

Better fg% than BHH, better 2pt% then BHH, better 3pt% then BHH, better TO rate than BHH. Your dislike of him clouds the actual facts, he isn’t a star but if he’s forcing bad shots he’s still hitting at a higher rate than BHH who apparently is taking good shots in your opinion.

ORN is where I want another post. Trade him for a 6'9 guy that can play.
I want a guard that can play above the rim and finish. I think we will be fine if he's a 1 or 2 but we need someone who can get to the rim.
BTW..... I don't hate ORN I just see it as another our fans are in love with and think he's a lot better than he really is.

I think you just hate him to hate him if I'm honest. If anything I actually think he deserved more minutes this season than he was getting.

21.5 mpg and even after missing 13 games he finished the season 5th in total rebounds, 6th in total assist, 3rd in total blocks, 6th in total points, and Uros was the only player on the team to play more minutes than ON but have less total turnovers.

Nah. I just think he's selfish on the court.

Oh I’m sure. It’s a head coach factory we have going here
Idr if I posted this already, or if someone else did, but every single assistant coach under Barnes here has gone on to be a head coach (except the three that are still here).

Odgen
Lanier
Oliver
English
Schwartz

Chris Odgen made a stop at Texas Tech as an assistant in between being a coach here and a head coach, all the others were hired away from here as head coaches

Anyone else watching Vandy vs Xavier or am I the only one w a problem
Normally I would, but the loss last weekend has had me down and out the last 5 days. Gonna watch some of the games tomorrow (later today) but I’m honestly just bummed and ready for the offseason. This year and 2019 were the worst Tennessee losses in any sport, I can personally remember in a long, long time.

I’m less in the camp of needing a post than most folks, now if he’s a can’t miss gonna walk in here and be a 17/10 a night reliable presence then sure, but of the names I’ve seen so far, I like what we’ve got just as much. I think BHH and Aidoo progress, Plav takes another step forward, and ON (I know you hate him) hopefully continues to develop too. I get none of that screams an All-American, but I don’t want to add a guy who’s gonna give you 9/7 when we already likely have that.
Your right. It does no good to bring in someone on the post unless they can really play but if I'm Barnes I put a lot of eggs in that basket otherwise we are settling for mediocrity. Bringing back Plav and ON for major roles is not the answers. Like I said they are not bad players. They are the type of guys that could start at the bottom of the SEC, but again our program can now get 4 and 5 star talent and possibly a big time transfer. Why settle?

Because we’re a program based on teamwork and trust. These guys have bought into your system and developed into the roles you’ve asked of them. They fit your culture and it’s unknown what the next guy will do.

Aren’t Aidoo and BHH 4&5 star talents?
