ZZ played a lot better as well. He looked much more like last years ZZ.In Green Bay for the titans game so I didn’t get to watch a ton tonight. Looks like Mashack and JJJ balled out. Also glad to see JP attacking the hoop and getting to the line. Hopefully this gives us some confidence heading to B4A.
I think the 3 point number will fluctuate the rest of the season. I don't mind if they shoot 40 or 10 as long as they're good shots within the flow and rhythm of the offense. My favorite part of the game? We had more made free throws than 3PT attempts.
FG: 24 of 49 49%
3PT: 8 of 20 40%
FT: 25 of 37 67.6%
He will develop well, almost certainly. He’s a highly intelligent young man with a motor that’s incredible to watch. He did work hard last night in demanding and clearing an area for entry passes. Offensively, he will get there sooner rather than later. Nkamhoua is just not clean receiving or passing in traffic. I was hoping he would be stronger with the ball and protect better, but it’s an adventure for him at times. I thought last night he gave great effort, though.Yeah I think the way we play defense frustrates opponents (or it has so far at least). Against Colorado we weren't hitting our shots so it didn't pay off, against FGCU we didn't settle for 3s and forced the issue more would have liked to see Olivier do a bit better from FT line, if he's going to be an interior presence he's gotta shoot a bit better than 7 of 12 from there and he'll also need to catch the ball cleaner.
No complains overall, but if Olivier catches the ball cleaner he likely would have went over 20 last night. Of course some of it is also on the passers for not giving him a good pass, but Awaka in his limited opportunities did a better job (imo) of positioning and presenting himself to receive those interior passes, just not as comfortable making offensive moves. But he could be our next Grant Williams (high praise, but physically he's bigger and stronger than Grant...just wonder if he'll be able to develop the interior offense close to that level).

Yeah I just feel like Olivier in HS and when playing with Finland has mostly been working on playing away from the paint. Awaka though you can tell he played inside in HS and with his size/strength if he continues to develop down low he's got the best shot on the team to be another Grant type of player for us.
We've done a great job at getting culture players though, so I feel like seeing guys like Santi, JJJ, Olivier develop over 4 years will help Aidoo, Mashack, DJ, ZZ and Phillips dot he same. I think Phillips should stay for another season, I could see him REALLY being special with another full off-season to develop his body.
Phillips is very talented, but very undersized as far as strength goes. He does take those checks and body blows pretty well, though. Still hard for him to go inside and finish at all because his frame just won’t let him get through anyone.Phillips will probably be a One & Done based off potential.
Hope I’m wrong but I can’t see him staying two years.

Chandler was considered undersized for his position but still got drafted based off potential.
Plus, he can always gain more weight and muscle in an NBA training program.
I’d love to be wrong on this one but I can’t see Phillips passing up the opportunity to be drafted.
That’s the risk you take when you recruit these types of talent.
Maschack and Phillips are athletic freaks and clearly very talented. Maschack flashed last night. If those two can continue making major strides this season, it will elevate our season exponentially. We need those two. I don’t think anyone else on the roster has flashed the ability to cut to the basket and score quite like they have early in the season.
