Showing surprising agility and is getting up and down the floor. Posting up and scoring. I’m sure he’ll have ups and downs like all rookies but he’s doing better than I thought he would. Great for the Grizz if he can handle it because they are in dire need of a center and he’s the only true one in the roster. The only issue I see is how he holds up injury wise over the long season. I wasnt one that that thought Edey was “just a big guy who gets all the calls”, but I also didn’t expect him to have a long and meaningful NBA career, and I still don’t, honestly.

I thought the argument that he was just big was laughable. Lots of guys that size play and have played ball( we’ve had a few) and they didn’t finish around the basket like that. If he got the ball down low he was hard to stop, and not just because he got away with stuff a lot. He also got the crap beat out of him a lot, with is being u called. All part of big man life. I don’t see how being a long term NBA guy. Maybe I’m wrong. All I can’t about is I don’t have to watch him anymore against my Vols.

No question he could finish. But if I was 7’4” and 300 lbs and I got to stand in the lane for 8 to 10 seconds and bulldoze the defender, I could finish to. But you’re right, we don’t have to see him against the Vols anymore and that’s great. And if he can help the Grizz at all, I’m happy too.

He didn't just foul out, he only played 14 minutes and fouled out. It was criminal how he got calls in college and it may have cost us the national title. Definitely cost us the final four.

Yep. He’s not going to be the focus in that offense with Morant, Bane and Jackson but if he’s going to be a contributor he’ll have to learn he won’t get away with what he did in college. They mainly need him to rebound and be physical without fouling. Hopefully he’ll learn.

I find it a bit odd that so many folks (not you specifically) are sort of rooting for Edey to have professional success. Personally, I thought he showed himself to be quite unlikeable in interviews and find myself sort of hoping he gets his comeuppance. JMO, TIFWIW

Agreed. I’m a bit conflicted myself. Absolutely despised him at Purdue with his attitude and the favorable calls he always got. But as a Grizz fan, I’m hoping he produces because they need a physical presence. (They really miss Steven Adams.) If any other team had drafted him, I’d hope he’d fall on his face too.

He was a guy who had quite the attitude as he progressed. Taking that cheap shot at Barnes after that Elite 8 game was one of the most classless acts I‘ve ever seen. His “me against the world” mentality was pretty disgusting, too. Glad we have the high character guys we do.
