Yeah. And it’s really 9 players, at best. Don’t think we can expect Boswell to contribute much this year.

He's going to contribute a lot, but I don't think you'll see a ton of stats to prove it.

Bishop is in a great spot this season. He's got 3 veteran guards that are all basically his size/game and if he can learn a bit from each I'm excited to see his growth this year.

I suppose if he can just chew some minutes in a few blowouts early in the season that will help with longevity of ZZ and his workload. Either way, he’s going to get a lot of necessary experience for next year since we’ll be hunting for a new floor general that can run Barnes’ system.

Potentially huge news for the Vols as Dubar is back practicing with the team. A positive sign on his situation
Not sure it really is "huge news". Unfortunately, he was not expected to be a significant contributor at this point to begin with, even withiut all the complications. I sure hope things develop for him, but from the sound of things, whatever we manage to get from him will be a bonus.

Honestly would be surprised if he’s anything more than an older guy who comes in for a couple of minutes if we have several guys in foul trouble. The basketball version of Gaston Moore.

Then again, maybe his personal issues have been a distraction and were holding him back. One can hope that’s the case.

As I expected, Thompson-Boling Arena has essentially disappeared from the official vernacular around the Vol Network/99.1 etc. It's always the Food City Center now. TBA is never mentioned. Even the hosts of the sports talk programs just say Food City Center.

Yeah we don't know what's going on but sounded potentially death with family/friends (per Basilio for what it's worth) and maybe like Vescovi last year will take months to mentally get back to normal. Not expecting anything huge but if he can be some backup minutes at 3/4 would be nice.

From the 3-7 o’clock hours for sure but those 2 are clowns on the air. Imo

JW, BR, JW and his early morning partner usually end w TBA. I don’t mind that nearly as much considering the university is benefiting from that Food City name.(and it’s tiny on the court)

UT calls it FCC (hence why I use it in the game thread).

All official UT radio/TV/promotional material etc info has dropped Thompson-Boling as well. It's just the Food City Center.

At least B Ray Thompson didn’t want his name on the new arena. He agreed to it as long as Ed Boling’s name was also on it.

Is Shields-Watkins Field still used in official UT publications?
Yes.
During its first century of service to the Big Orange faithful, the venue grew in both capacity and reverence while evolving into one of the most iconic sporting venues in the world. This legacy lives on thanks to a transformative partnership with Pilot. Announced in August of 2024, this long-term commitment preserves Neyland Stadium and Shields-Watkins Field.

Can Dubar take a RS or something??

I’d imagine he would contribute next year if he has an extra year
As a portal guy I assume we used some NIL to attract him to UT. At this point, don’t think they’d want to invest in a guy who can’t make the rotation. Sounds tough, but that’s the new reality of big time college sports.
