I talk **** about players because I’m usually mad and just throw my thoughts on here.

If we could take him back, I’d gladly do it. Sometimes the grass isn’t always greener….for BOTH parties

Yeah, feel the same. But once you bail for another school you're just a memory. I don't want anyone to get hurt or anything but I absolutely want them to play like dogs**t

Unless it's a local kid Barnes wanted to give a shot that transfers down. (Drew Pember, BJ Edwards, or Tamba).

Speaking of Handje Tamba, he had transferred to Weber State, which was a big step down. However, he is now at Milligan University in Johnson City, an NAIA school, where he is averaging 9.8 ppg.

There is likely some political reason Tennessee took him when they did, but they had to know at that time that he was never going to cut it in the SEC.

Any idea what the political reason may be?

I'd guess maintaining some sort of relationship with a program. He played at Knox Catholic and for the BMaze AAU program. Seems like the "politics" (which may not even be the best word to describe it) were discussed when people questioned the take when he originally committed.

Can players transfer out and then return without penalty? That wouldn’t be a bad approach. Bring in players with potential, get an up close look at them for a year, place them with a friendly program to develop for a couple of years and get a lot of court time, bring them back for their last year or two if they’ve responded.

All 3 of Weber State’s fans on their forum all expected Handje to start because he was “10x more athletic” than what they had.

Maybe teams took a flyer on him because he was extremely athletic.

But him magically looking like a baller now is mostly due to the fact that he hasn’t played against a starting line up with a big over 6’8.

Edit: Reclassifying didn’t help either

Size certainly helps his cause, but dropping from NCAA D1 to NAIA in competition is the biggest factor in his improvement. And I wouldn't say he "looks like a baller" at this point, either. I'm a little surprised he's only managing 9.8 ppg as 6-11 having dropped from the SEC to Milligan University.

Fair enough. Saw he was averaging basically a double double and said “good for him, he’s balling now”

But it’s fair to say he doesn’t either
