Austin Peay is a real team. That will be a good test.
I'm not certain Montana wasn't. That was a 9-pt game at half, and it wasn't because we shot ourselves in the foot with TOs and poor shooting.

They were picked to win the Big Sky if I'm not mistaken, and I'll keep my eye on that Money Williams kid all year just to see how he progresses. He's only a sophomore, so I'd venture to guess Barnes and Co. likely took note of him and added his name to the offseason file, just in case.

Sure. I agree Montana wasn’t a slouch. Possible Q3 win. (Montana finished 144 in net last year, which would of made them a Q3 win in 2023)

Holding out hope I guess that AP could claw into Q3 territory lol

Feels like our “buy game” teams are pretty solid teams this year compared to some years. Which I think actually helps with the chemistry we need to develop by testing these guys early.

Money Williams is a future NBA player. That kid can hoop. Austin Peay is good, but I don’t think they have anyone with near the talent that Williams has. Should be another good test for us Sunday before the Bahamas, but this team is responding well early on.

He's left handed and can fill it up. Bring him on for 2025.

They beat Butler and Chattanooga.

They have the best resume of anyone we’ve played so far lol

Butler isn't really a quality win yet... they went 18-15 last season.

Peay is outside top 125 ranking in every major category... it's a young season still so not sure how much we should read into that. But Louisville by comparison was a top 75 defensive team in points allowed and rating and we were playing them on their court.

I do think it's a good team though, and I appreciate that Barnes has brought in some really competitive smaller schools this year. Teams that could win their conferences and be in the dance.

Interestingly enough, Louisville is #68 in KenPom right now. That’s a Q2 win already and hopefully they stay that way. Virginia is #96. I still think it will be a good test, but they aren’t anywhere near as good as I thought they would be when it was announced last year we are playing them.

For comparison, Virginia would be dead last in the SEC. So far all 16 SEC teams are in the Top 85 of KenPom.

Virginia without Tony Bennett is going to be an interesting matchup. No clue what they're going to look like. Their game tomorrow night with Villanova should tell us a good bit.

It’s a slow day at work, so I was looking out our schedule in the non-conference. It’s a good schedule, but not as tough as I was originally expecting. Syracuse is outside the Top 100 right now. Miami is barely inside the Top 50. I think we’ll learn the most about our team in the Baylor/St. John’s game. Illinois won’t be easy either.

Really wish we had a more compelling SEC/ACC matchup. We played Syracuse last year, and I’m shocked we didn’t get one of the top ACC teams given our status as one of the best SEC programs lately.

We got North Carolina last season. Syracuse was our first round game in Maui.

Away against top 75 is a Quad 1 win. Not sure where Louisville will end up but if it’s close to where they are now we have a Quad 1 win.

Igor made me learn how my iPhone keyboard works with the odd characters. With Uros I’d use copy/paste if I wanted to be more accurate. I finally googled how to do it with Milićić. Hold your finger on the “c” after typing it. Maybe autofill will figure it out soon.,
Look at you bringing Polish tech up in here! 😉🤙🏼
