I really liked the confidence Igor had when Miami was making their run. He had just missed a three, but didn’t hesitate to shoot another when he was open. Nailed it.
Him and Lanier both get their shots off so quickly, never ceases to shock me. They have to be uber confident with how those triggers are.

Just wanted to do my weekly Awaka post.

Awaka’s averages against the only 4 quality opponents they have faced.

5ppg
7rpg
.75apg
.50bpg
3 fouls per game

Baller. Few more games and he will have more fouls than points.
It's probably fair to point out that most everyone's numbers would be much lower if you only included games against the best competition.

See Tennessee football...lol

A majority, sure.

A quick one, Cade’s two best games this season came from Baylor and Cuse, the two best teams, imo.

Chaz is another one, you don’t even have to use certain games, just use the level of competition from last year to this year.

Same with Igor.

Not sure I get the Chaz example. He dominated lesser competition on a lesser team last year at UNF.

This year, with a much better team around him, he's continued to dominate at Tennessee.

I think it's difficult to draw any conclusions about those two situations because they are so different with so many variables.

While there are exceptions, my point was that using only games against the best competition on the whole will generally result in a reduction in efficiency and output.

To your point, Tobe Awaka has certainly performed better against the weaker teams than he has against the better ones. I guess I just don't find that to all that surprising. He wasn't a superstar at Tennessee as an under-the-rim contributor, and fouls were what kept him from being any more effective. The same seems to be holding true at Arizona.

There ya go again.

..bringin’ a centered take up in here…

..the nerve. 🤣🤙🏼

If you take off the orange shades this looks pretty legit. The 3 ahead of us have play a strong sched thus far.
Considering that Net Rankings has us at 2, KenPom has us at 2, and no other AP voter had us below 2, these feel like a pair of realistic-colored glasses to me.

Boring Friday so skip past if you’ve already seen it. When Kobe passed I didn’t want any part of the memorial service on TV. But just had a buddy send me MJs talk and worth a look if you haven’t seen it.

That whole service was just surreal and tear inducing. Seeing MJ like that really was something.

I'm legitimately still shocked by his tragic death, and I'd be lying if I said I'm not angry that he was taken away too soon. I always liked Kobe when he played, but I wasn't like a mega fan or anything. Still, he is undoubtedly one of the best and most influential players to ever play the game, and he was a great guy off the court as well. The man, his daughter, and the other passengers did not deserve to die in a helicopter crash.

Few celebrity deaths (probably none) have shaken me like that one did. The kids being involved made it just unbearable.

Yeah I agree 100%. For me, the only other celeb death that really moved me was Steve McNair. I was a kid in Nashville when the Titans moved there, and that's what got me into playing Pop Warner for a five seasons. Even though McNair had not been a Titan for a while, he was still very beloved in Nashville.
