The Official #1 Tennessee @ #8 Florida Game Thread, 7:00 PM ET, ESPN2

I’m not going to panic, it’s just a question. Feels reasonable to at least wonder a bit more about how good we are after this. Our biggest loss last year was to Texas A&M by 16. We’re currently down 31. Do great teams lose by over 30?

I'm not going to panic and the NCAAT is still what matters but I think tonight makes me really pump the brakes on this team now. I get bad games happen, but this is pretty embarrassing for a #1 team. Like this is bad. I can take losing but getting our asses completely handed to us and playing this weak is just...not good.

Still the drive bys can pound sand.

Florida definitely played with an intensity that Tennessee couldn’t or wouldn’t match. Credit to them.

Besides Tennessee’s awful play, one thing that annoyed me was about this game was that Florida whined about EVERY foul that was called on them…the players on the court, the players on the bench, the coaches, the fans, EVERYONE complained about EVERY call, even up by 30. It‘s like they think fouls are only for the other team.

Clearly we were overrated, but this is January. What we look like tonight doesn't necessarily mean this is who/what we will be come March. I expected us to get spanked tonight, but felt like we'd take care of business vs Texas. Know the score is a bitter pill, but it's still one loss. We get smoked against Texas and my concern will be much higher.

Question in in bounds play and back court.

Why not have an actual clock on both instead of relying on the officials count - would be very easy and very consistent???

Meh, bound to lose a game....might as well be one like the LA fire. Where you're at in February and March will say everything. Always does. So put it in the rearview mirror....tap into it going forward, and just keep improving. What else is there to do?

Through 14 games, TN only has 3 players shooting above 30% from 3-pt:
1 - Lanier: 56/120 = 46.7%
2 - Gainey: 20/56 = 35.7%
3 - Mashack: 7/22 = 31.8%

TN does not have shooters to win anything meaningful this year. Tonight is reality slapping TN in the face. TN's best basketball may have already been played this year. Poor shooting, weak rebounding, lack of post production & inability to handle physical D are a recipe for many road losses & an early exit from the tourney.

Jordan Gainey hits a free throw and tells the rest of the team to get back on defense.....with authority!.......

Outside of missing shots we normally make what exactly has the game exposed about us? We already knew post play would be an issue.

We just didn't play with any confidence tonight. I really hope they just let the #1 ranking go to their head and got overconfident to the point they were shocked when it wasn't easy for them

Historically bad. This will be headlines for the next week bad. Mentioned for the rest of the season bad.

No shame in doubting after this. It’s the complete meltdowns that some have that are ridiculous.

Tennessee hasn’t even really showed signs of this bad of offense all year. Had droughts but usually got righted. This is just an anomaly for this season so far.
Everyone is throwing clunkers. We are probably going to find out that there is a flu going around or something. I've never seen this bunch look this bad.

I was kinda afraid we would see a fame like this. We will see what our players are made if this weekend. If they can come back and win, we have the team we thought we had. If not, we will have a long season. I think we will still be a top team. A lot of lessons learned tonight.
