The Official #1 Tennessee @ Illinois Game Thread, 5:30 PM ET, FOX

If there is anything that should motivate Mashack to be more aggressive offensively, just play him back the post-game comments from Illinois' coach Underwood. He flatly said they weren't guarding Mashack at all. Mashack practiced shooting entirely too much these last few off seasons to not even look at the rim. Never going to build any confidence if you don't take shots, especially those easy mid-range looks.
Yea, was surprised he was as timid as he was outside of the paint. Looked uncomfortable taking that shot, where we’ve seen him hit when he’s open. Gonna need to be a threat from 3 if teams are going to guard him like that

What a great win given the foul call disparity - Lanier and ZZ off the floor for a lot of minutes - several players made great plays - Team Team Team win. Phillips played so well - he should be starting.

Go Vols.

Everyone should savor this win.
Agree on Phillips starting - Okpara has lost his way of late. Maybe he’s got something physical going on that needs more rest to heal?

I think Barnes likes to stick with a starting lineup, but Phillips may be coming in much quicker down the road. We'll be undefeated going into SEC play

I’ll say this. This game right here shows how good we truly are. Shot bad, played their 5 and the refs, Lanier and Zeigler were a non factor in the second half, and we played in a super hostile environment falling behind by as much as 8 but continued to fight and claw our way back each time. This Tennessee team has a chance to be special.

Geez, man. I‘m going to give you some advice, and it’s free: ALWAYS let the game play out. Talking about pathetic.
It’s okay to be frustrated but great teams play bad in every sport. Basketball is also different than football. Lower tier teams knock off the big boys all the time - ex March Madness. But Illinois is a quality team with home court advantage. At the end of the day, we won, and on the road in a hostile environment.
