This. I really like what I've seen from Boswell and Dubar can be an oversized 3, stretch 4 and strong enough to play some 5 in a pinch. We may be short one big in the rotation and a true backup PG but we have bodies to make up for JP being out and this version of Gainey can spell ZZ at PG, if needed.....Boswell too. There will be very few games where ZZ and Lanier have that much foul trouble AND Milicic goes that cold from 3. Cade also didn't contribute much on offense. Quad 1 win on the road while playing our worst overall game of the year is impressive.

It was hilarious karma how the foul situation played out. Illinois gets a biased whistle throughout the second half and then ended up with only 4 when they needed to put TN on the free throw line with the one point lead and under 30 seconds left.

Then, they were out of fouls to give and on the final play and they needed them to disrupt Gainey’s length of the court drive.

There are egregious calls and no calls throughout the second half. Here is a few. ZZ's 3rd foul, GO LOOK. Chaz's 4th which also took off his put back. GO LOOK. The stoppage of the clock on our rebound, taking off 4 seconds on our possession and taking away anothe goal. GO LOOK. The non call when the offensive player leveled Shack very late in the game. GO LOOK. The 5th Chaz foul. GO LOOK. ZZ's 5th foul with the guy out of control, leaning way forward out of his cylinder, and the first contact being his extended forearm and push on a retreating ZZ's back. GO LOOK closely frame by frame to get the whole truth. THEN go pick out the offsetting calls in our favor using the thresholds established in context of the game as called. Not even counting the one where their big ran up Igor's back after a rebound forcing him to maintain balance by using the ball to stay upright, or the one one OOB call where they had two guys contesting over a Vol, Chaz maybe, on the floor with two hands straight up in the air. The refs hurt their case by spending all that face time talking to their Coach even though they amassed a 13 to 3 foul advantage the second half. Go put a time clock on those discussions vs the time with RB. Bad look, for an in conference group. Would like an explanation of the replay review upholding the foul call on us and ruling no flagrant on that elbow to the jaw we took on that play.

Glad it wasn't just me with the horrendous foul calls. Blatant . Danny White should be sending Video /emails to the Big 10. Illinois pushes off, and Tennessee gets called for the foul! No way to whitewash that Bias! Looked like somebody got paid! And they Still lost!

Danny White should have already been on the phone to the Illinois AD and the Big10 commissioner demanding action over their fan putting their hands on one of our athletes. To me, that was way way more egregious than the terrible officiating. Let something like that go and it opens the door to someone thinking they’re entitled to do something even worse in the future. I would hope if one of our dumbarse fans did the same that White would make a public example of what fan behaviors won’t be tolerated by permanently banning them from all VOL sporting events forever.

He came flying out of nowhere for some of those boards and his late steal and dunk were HUGE! Not many 6'10 guys in college that are making that play. If he will start being that aggressive with a shot fake and drive to the basket more often then his entire offensive game will elevate and the 3's will come. Most overall combo of natural athletic/size gifts and skill on the team.

Outside of last year, and maybe the best Grant/Admiral year, we lose this game in any other season under Barnes. This team is a problem and built for March.
